I have little actual deep seeded faith in humanity. Had friends, who became ex-friends, whose Halloween Party in 2002 became a celebration of the death of Senator Paul Wellstone who had just been killed in a plane accident. And I don't mean celebrating his life, I mean toasting that the guy they felt was too liberal was dead. Didn't even matter to them that his wife and daughter were also killed. So a few people celebrating a firing doesn't surprise me.

so I saw an article on the bbc about people who risk their lives for others. The queation was if people were naturally selfish and need to persuade themselves to risk their lives for others, or if we're naturally selfless and do it as an instinct. Research has actually shown that when people have less time to think we actually become more selfless. Not that that helps in this case, but it may help with your pessimism towards humanity.

also just got a text from my dad and it looks like rhoads will coach the wvu game. I'm glad they decided to let him do that

Surprise me, no... but it still disappoints me.

The FB announcement said "next Saturday will be his last game", so yeah. He'll finish the season, but he knows it's over.

I'll always have faith in humanity. No matter what, at any point in time, the people there to give you faith far outweigh the few bad apples in the world. Just because they're not as vocal doesn't mean they're not there.

And yet, one should never be surprised by how horrible humans can be to each other.

Yesterday I read a story about an ex con in NY who was fired from Wal-Mart for cashing in $2 in cans found in the redemption area. He was trying to make an honest life and fired for essentially cleaning trash. That's the type of story where I feel sympathy. Not the football coach who has made millions to fail at his job for three years now and is sent out the door with 4.5 million more.

Ladders are placed and I am ready to climb. Came back in for phone in case I get trapped on the roof. Happened once.

When I was placing the ladder I saw a big dog across the street watching me. Than realized it was not a dog, it was a big coyote. Probably looked bigger with his winter coat. Not sure I like the fact we have coyotes in the neigborhood. First I have seen although a couple years ago one nabbed a neighbors little dog.

Maybe he was looking for the turkeys that were in my yard earlier this week.

There's a difference between sympathy and empathy.

Haha, Nickels woke up in the middle of the night and texted me that she was sad she missed the show. I said "yeah, I think her husband is going to be dealing with a puking and hungover Cowgirl".

Looks like I'm Nostrsdamus over here....

it went from fun to bad in about 30 seconds. Probably about the time the 2nd and 3rd shots hit. I'd have been fine without those damn shots. My head felt fine this morning but my stomach is a bit icky.......possibly the no food........

Look, it needed to happen, it was the right thing to do, no one is denying that. All we're saying is that if you're dancing with joy, or "LOL, GTFO, GDIAF, EABOD Paul Rhoads"...or making "So Proud" jokes like my doosher co-worker Iowa fan....you're kind of a small person.

I don't feel sorry for him. I just find it disgusting for people to actually celebrate someone losing their job. When I have to fire someone, I don't throw a party afterward.
Can I celebrate the fact that I'm now optimistic about the possibility of having a coach who knows what he is doing? I feel bad for Rhoads the man, but I don't feel bad for wanting to get rid of incompetence. Just like if I was incompetent at my job I'd be fired.

One can celebrate hope for the future without bad mouthing one of our own.

He gets paid 2.5 million dollars and public scrutiny is part of the job. Especially when he has stolen the paycheck the last 3 years.

Public scrutiny doesn't mean calling someone a worthless piece of ****. It means saying, this person should be fired because they've only won 8 games over the last three years.
