I love when people bring up threads from years ago like the Mangino thread when he was hired. Hindsight is great, but that doesn't change the meaning of slam dunk hires. Just because they end up working out doesn't mean they aren't slam dunk hires. Mangino was a slam dunk hire. Chizik was a slam dunk hire. Fred was not a slam dunk hire. Heck, I don't think GMac was, be he was moreso than Fred was. Just because they bomb later doesn't mean hiring them at the time wasn't a slam dunk.
Vikes has suddenly become the most popular guy on the thread. I'm looking forward to seeing what lengths of suckup the candidates display. 
This is like getting a promise of a check from a guy notorious for writing bad checks.

I can't find my thermometer, but I don't feel like I have a temperature. I do feel like I fell off of a horse.
As the resident swami with regards to all things pork fat and bacon, I feel I should comment on the WHO's comments today. I fully stand behind their directions.
Because, after all, pork bellies and beef have been all too expensive lately...this announcement will get the bandwagon fans off the bus, leaving more glorious pork fat for the serious connoisseurs like me and GTO.
I only hope it doesn't raise chicken prices...$0.49/lb chicken thighs can't be beat...well, except by pork fat.
