Those of you who have met me, or have seen recent pics of me...you will all agree that there is no possible way that I could be described as "athletic"...right??? How the frack do I get an injury typically associated with athletes???

So...I'm calmer now. I posted that right after going to the doc...who has referred me to an ortho for probable surgical repair of a torn meniscus in my right knee. Yup. The RIGHT knee. The opposite side from the LEFT foot, which is supposed to be operated on at the end of December.

I am NOT a happy camper right now.

I tore my meniscus in football in high school. It's the most annoying injury. You can walk around on it and think you're fine, but then you try to lift your leg up onto the bed, or move it a certain way and you're suddenly in horrible pain.

Wait you have a torn meniscus and you are not on crutches?

It's the inner corner - bottom inside of the patella. And yes...I'm walking on it...and it hurts like hell if I don't keep my leg stiff. Crutches are problematic for me. I have severe arthritis in the CMC joints on both thumbs...so putting my weight on my hands would probably hurt worse than walking around like Festus Haggen.

I don't know what's going to happen....but I have to wait a week just to talk to them. Not going to be a fun week.

Sorry to hear that KC. Not envying you going through that during the winter up there.

Maybe Georges can sign your leg brace next time?

It's going well, thanks! How about yourself, Rum Brooklyn? (Is that still a thing? Trying to look cool here!) How's the house and DH?

it seems to still be a thing, yes. DH is doing well, starting to get beleagured by this honey-do list that appeared with the house, haha. He wants to go see a movie on Friday, I want to get some Christmas decorations. I say, why not both? He makes pouty face. But we finally have our blinds up so we can stop letting all the neighbors and WDSM take a peek.

sorry to hear, KC. Any chance you can get a scooter, especially for winter? Achilles heel friend's insurance gave him one for a while

I'm only like 3 years (at least) late to the party, but I just found this series of videos and I'm addicted.

That explains all the cussing and empty PM's.

I'm sorry. Knee problems stink.

You need to come up with a story. Maybe about how you injured it jumping up and down cheering at an ISU basketball game.

Was talking MCLs after golf with some of my fellow old dudes and asked how the guy who was getting his fixed injured it. Putting on his socks! Other guy added he has had two MCL, both while pedaling on his road bike. Damn.

Here's a random thought and also a what grinds my gears...

Posting "You're adopted" as an insult. Not cool.

I don't think you'll get any disagreement from anyone in here. Adopting a child and raising him/her as their own is probably one of the most loving things a couple can do.

It always rubs me the wrong way. I'm way past the point of it bothering me personally when some tries to use it as an insult but I'll never understand the logic either.
