Setting it aside and never coming back to it is not necessarily a bad thing...worse would be to "set things aside" but continually dredge them up whenever you're angry. Words of wisdom from my mom a looooooong time ago: What's past is past; don't escalate a new argument with old arguments.

oh yeah, if you had a stupid fight about squishy grapes, maybe let that one go. I think what 00 was getting at was the ones that do matter and you just ignore it and never resolve or talk about the underlying issue and let it fester instead.

I have never enjoyed food candles, but fresh linen or muted nature scents are where it's at.

there was a Grandma's kitchen one that smelled like oatmeal and soap. Accurate, I suppose, but not good.

My mom does some Christmasy ones at Christmas that are nice. I think we also maybe weren't allowed candles in the apartment, and with carpet everywhere, that was a big no-no to me. I suppose now with more counterspace and wood non-fabricy floors, I could try a couple. I do like those lineny or lilac smelling ones.

I seen some of these obvious hoaxes posted by people of all ages including people with advanced degrees.
I don't bother trying to correct them unless it's via an email. Not cool to publicly post a correction or comment that essentially says "You are such a dumb ***."

On some of the reaaaaaally breathless OMG this person did that type posts, I have been known to link snopes or factcheck.org in the comments... :)

Yes, sorry, wasn't clear with that...I was talking about your bad example...leaving things unresolved. I think you're talking about, and I'd totally agree, that you resolve it, then leave it resolved. Clean up the mess and then set the trash at the curb where the trash collector takes it far, far away is good, sweep it under the rug and pretend it's not there, but then trip over it every time you walk thru the room is not good.

I think we agree, I just worded it shortly for brevity, but then opened the door for confusion.

Yup...we agree. Best to resolve what needs to be resolved and not let things fester.

Hah...will never forget...was helping a buddy move one time...a couple nights before he had come home from the bar and put a pizza in the oven and then passed out. He woke up and it was the size and color of a hockey puck and the smoke alarm was going off.

In an effort to 'fix' the issue, he went and got, and lit, like a dozen strawberry scented candles. And here we are huffing his furniture around and stuff, helping him move. Uggh, to this day, I can't handle strawberry candles.

Before computers made my job much faster, I had several women working for me in my office. One had a penchant for strawberry perfume. At the request of the other women, I finally had to take her aside and ask her to refrain from wearing it on days that she was working. She had been wearing it for so long she couldn't smell it any more...

9th graders are brutal. Doing STEM presentations for 4 hours is pretty fun though.

No I think my name is on some list that tells retailers to hold on shipping my orders for a few days to **** me off

Probably. This same notion applies to my conviction to never be rude to waiters/waitresses. For example, if your food is raw or terrible or whatnot and needs to be returned to the kitchen, if you are rude you are more likely to receive the special sauce on your next plate.

Omg I just don't return it. Seriously I don't think I have ever sent something back, I just lie and smile.

If it's wrong, send it back, just don't be a **** about it. The server may have put the order in right and the kitchen may have forgotten to send things out with it. If it's raw, that's a hazard.
