Random thoughts III

Just got back from catching The Nutcracker by the Minnesota Dance Company. I am not a big ballet guy at all but this production here is reliably awesome and sort of a Christmas tradition for me. The famous Tchaikovsky score is pretty great with an honest to goodness live orchestra.

Gin and tonic before the ballet, Stella at intermission and scotch nightcap. Gotta love the State Theater and the loge seating with the little table for your beer.

CG, are you getting a riding lawn mower for the new casa? If so why not a blade or blower for the lawn mower? Also how did you like the S5? I've looked at them a couple of times but I'm not really sure what all I'm looking for, do like that it is water resistant.
 
Boxster, sound like a fun nite. It's fun to do the fancy stuff every now and then.

my parents are actually giving me their 20 something year old grasshopper. Too much for the thing to handle the hilly 3 acres at the farm, but in good shape to give us a couple more on a flat acre. It's a riding mower with the mower in the front, if that makes sense. I'm not sure you can put a blower on it. But that's a good idea for when we have to buy our own mower. I'm hoping this one will give us 2-3 years.

I played with both the M8 and the S5. I liked the S5 better - and I went in wanting to like the M8 more. I felt it was easier to type on (made zero typing errors in a sentence vs 3 on the M8), the S5 also has a row of numbers at the top of the keyboard - no need to switch to number/symbol mode. I checked a couple websites (including here) and thought the S5 was easier to read on - sharper with more contrast. DH said some of it could have been the settings, but even after checking those, he said the S5 seemed to auto scale (whatever that means) better. He thought the S5 was easier to type on but still thought the letters were a bit close. So idk on your hand size but that's something to consider. The cameras on both were heads and tails above my current. Size was similar on each. Consumer reports has the S5 as its highest rated phone at a 79, M8 is a 75 with the current Iphone, Galaxy 4, Galaxy Alpha, and LG GS in between. Both are in their recommended phone list.



I should mention that I've talked to several people about their phones and everyone who has had a Galaxy (including the 4) has only good things to say about them.

nm, youtube shows a snow blower on a grasshopper. Youtube just has everything, don't they.

I just had a really strange dream. Sorry if a little spotty, I probably forgot some details. I was in my high school senior year(or I think it was) and I had just met 2 girls that would live with me and my family for the school year(both I knew then, but not very well at all)and in the dream I didn't know them at all. We were at some restaurant when I first "met" them and I was in the bathroom when they first came and met my family. I think about going over to introduce myself and them to go and flirt but I don't. I also had my 5 year old cousin at my house randomly, I don't know why. Anyways, I start fighting with Brokane(I love that nickname, thanks whoever came up with it) about something I don't remember anymore and we get pretty mad at can't stand to be in the same room anymore. The dream just goes from here with something of a unspoken tension between the 2 of us, and then eventually I talk to the girls about something not important at all, get a hug from my cousin, and then I think I died of natural causes. Weird *** stuff.

I neeeeeeed to workout but I don't want to. Need to make more cookies, pretzels, and a casserole by 3:30. Should also do some laundry and then clean up from backing. And put together one gift and maybe a couple more. Moral of the story, I need to stop sitting here.

Better hurry up. I don't know if those will get to me before Christmas.
 
We were *this* close to packing up and leaving today stead of tomorrow, but we will wait until tomorrow and hope it isn't too much colder north to freeze the rain.

i have an S4 and like it. At one time I had a SD card in and it didn't like it (certain gig card that the phone didn't want to play nice with) but switched that out and no problems since. I did get some dust in my internal camera but it was still under warranty so sent it in. The screen clarity is awesome but with the otter box I have on it, you never get to see it.

Deere all the way. ;) Only green tractors on our farm. My Dad has also always owned a Buick. They always have 2 vehicles, but one is always a Buick. Probably doesn't mean much any more since so many of the companies use the same components but I'm sure he will have a Buick until the day he dies.

Last night hubby says, "I hope you bought your own Christmas gift". Eh, I bought myself a few little things I'm already using but otherwise we bought a new TV so that is our "gift". I have a milestone birthday in 2 months so I'll just ask for everything then.
