Random Thoughts 18: The Year of Fire

I prefer ma and pop stores for business, but when a new customer starts with you, maybe not fall off the face of the earth during the initial phase.

Breakfast is one of those things that's really hard to screw up. I can't remember the last time I had a bad breakfast. With that said, I really like Town Topic in KC for breakfast.
We always try to go to Classic Cup in Country Club Plaza when there for Big 12 tournaments.

The transfer portal thread is off the rails people are already guessing who may or may not transfer.

I'll have to add that to my "want to go". Do they have a specialty?
They love Cyclone fans :) Because we always show up. True statement, but that's not what you wanted to know.
This is their website I have never seen the video, but it's a good quick look. Be sure to check the menu page.
It's not a very big place, and although there is outside seating, it's small and can be cold even when weather is just cool. The building is on the south side of 47th St., what I call the main road through the area, so the outside seating is on the north and mostly in the shade.

EDIT, big portions. Go when you're hungry.

I wonder how the breakfast was at that place that did "porn in the morn"

I'm guessing like every other Wi. dive bar pretty good as long as you like fried eggs, bacon, and hash browns. and a beer or bloody mary to wash them down.

Place in St. Louis called Spenser's Grill that has the best hashbrowns I've ever had. I'm sure they start with the frozen shredded ones. They put like a 1/2 stick of butter on each order when they put them on the griddle. They start with mound of spuds bigger than a softball and when the butter melts down they smash the mound down and they get crunchy brown crust on the outside and then flip them over until the other side is the same way. Comfort food!!
The St Paul Grill in St Paul are the best hashbrowns I've ever had. They are crispy and loaded with bacon and onions. The place is pretty expensive so you expect them to be good.

The second best I've had are from the Otho Pub (I believe it's closed).

A friend of mine at work (we share the same first name nickname) died today of colon cancer. I'd just sent her a note this morning because I haven't seen her for a few weeks. The diagnosis was completely out of the blue a little over a month ago, and she told me shortly afterward. She also said more than once, "I'm gonna ring that bell." I could be theatrical and say she probably did, but the ordinary me is sad, really sad, that it didn't happen.

Several years ago, owners retired(?) and that was the end of it.

If you want to make additional donations, I can send you a link (or just post the routing number and account number from which you want the payment taken--easy peasey).
Randy,

I already sent contributions to your account. You don't need my bank info to draw from. I'd like to maintain a measure of consistency with these transactions.
