You'll enjoy this Canvas fiasco. When you hit the link for forgot password, it sends the person an email to contact the site administrator, which would be us since we are the e-commerce site. Except NOBODY HERE HAS SYS ADMIN CREDENTIALS TO DO ANYTHING. It's an endless deathloop.

So in reality it sucks for both them and you.

I got a call yesterday when the network was down Campus wide. This farmer wanted to buy pubs. I directed him to the store since the network was down and I couldn't access anything online. He then yelled at me and asked to speak to someone who could take his credit card over the phone to buy these pubs...
Farmers are Aholes, quicker you learn that, easier your life will be.

Ask them if they think they know their password and ask if their caps lock is on. If that doesn't work, tell them to restart their computer.

I sound like a real help desk technician now.

I subscribed to a site this year that does cartoons and shows in other languages. I thought it would be fun, and it was the first time. As quickly as she got over that one, I'm guessing I jumped the gun by a year, or it just wasn't cool.

We've tinkered with foreign language books from the library. She read a German one and did a book report last year for the homeschool book club. This year, the idea just didn't take off, except for her goal of reading a Harry Potter book in whatever language she decides when we're near that section. They're just too long, though, for where we're at right now.

Side note: She hasn't read any of those in English.

I presume you are English only as are DH and I. I haven't done much in the space other than let him chose to watch foreign language if he wants. I'm a little unsure how to progress it when we don't speak other languages. Guess we could do books but we won't truly understand them!

I don't even understand most books written in English.

It is much easier to watch shows from other countries these days. Because of this, Mrs. JC and I have started watching a number of shows made in the UK. We've given up trying to understand the actors with a British accent and just turn on close-captioning.

No, I did some French in junior high/high school, then German and Russian at ISU, Greek and Hebrew in seminary.

We just use curriculum and video sites. I can always send some links if you want. Z says it's time for some worksheets, so that's coming up soon.

Edit (for self-pity, because it's fun): I can do anything but make money.

UK people speak English, dude.

I can speak many languages, if the other person only speaks English. They have no idea when you spit out a bunch of jibberish and claim it to be another language.
