Husband had a football game up at Mason City several years ago....then a thunderstorm rolled through during the game. Lightning strike, 30 minute timer. 'Nother lightning strike, 30 minute timer starts over again. Repeat ad nauseum. Game finally got over after midnight. I _think_ husband took a hotel in Ft Dodge that night before going the rest of the way home.

Where was home at the time? Fort dodge is like an hour west of Mason city.

Two for two on tossing beer bottles at tree rats. Now out of empty beer bottles since recycling was yesterday.

New BB gun comes from Amazon tomorrow so I can start harassing him if he returns. You'd think getting knocked off the feeder just now would be a deterrent but bet it isn't. Maybe I should have thrown a full beer.

Am finding it odd I am so accurate throwing a beer bottle. Think if I'd thrown a baseball I'd have missed him.

BB s don't work. Pump pellet rifle works best. 50' no problem. I did miss once and put a small hole in metal part of feeder.

Nice and sunny out, only sunny day forecast for the week. Think I need to go walkabout and miss the first half of ISU/Sooners WBB but so be it.

Replacement Crosman .177 arrives tomorrow. I use BB's to harass at a lower pump up and velocity. If I want to kill them I'll switch to the pellets and pump it more. I am not looking to kill the little bastards, yet. Although I did kill one with a BB a couple years ago when I wasn't trying to. Also can use the pellets to "bee sting" the damn deer. It's in my front/side yard so need to be careful and avoid anything that might be dangerous so half power is my choice.

Four rats in the yard earlier. Only one does the tree drive onto the feeder. It's like one every two years that has to be extra annoying (and destructive).
 
I came here looking for the "R.I.P. Adam Rich" thread. not started yet. I wonder who will.
Dickie Roberts song comes to mind.
