Steroid shot at the base of my left thumb today. Fun times.

Trying to stave off reconstruction for as long as possible. The arthritis progression slowed a lot when I retired, but basically, my body is falling apart. Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative. :)

It can stop snowing anytime now. Snowed another 3" of so last night. Neighbor's across the street (good neighbors) have been gone for 10 days or so. I carved a pass through the mountain ridge of plowed snow across the end of their driveway yesterday with the idea off running my snow blower through it to get the the "open plains" of their driveway beyond. Now I am not sure my snow blower will be able to handle it, it's now at least a foot deep and half is heavy pack stuff.

You'll have to run the big one on it, it sounds like. Well after a couple of yrs of minor useage (if I remember right) The snow blowers are getting a work out this yr. Stay safe doing it.

My two-stage vintage Toto 524 maybe won't cut 12" -14". You're right, I hadn't even started Chuck in a couple of years till this winter. Just measured it and Chuck does have a 12" cutter but pretty sure the three day total is more than that. I did my drive with Little Fran but it was 6" or 7 " one day and like 5" the other. Haven't done last nights yet.

Already pushing up against the annual season snow fall and it's only January 5th.

The mounds next to my driveway between the street and sidewalk are maxed out. A full six feet tall at the peak and there is no room for more. Probably time for the City to bring by the equipment that knocks those down and pushes it into yards. This will be the earliest this happens in my memory.

New grad students were notorious for reply-all mishaps to department-wide emails. Then you would get the second wave of people using "reply all" to tell them to not use "reply all"

That's awesome. Our department didn't include grad students or adjuncts on department-wide emails (or it was just me?).
That was fine until it turned out there had been a surge of emails as COVID emerged, and people like me were just left to ourselves to make our own decisions. Of course, it returned to that approach immediately.

We've had enough. We are officially at the point that you can't see cars coming when you are pulling out of an intersection or parking lot.

Last week, I plowed paths in the backyard so that the dog won't go to the bathroom on the deck and so that the dog can get some exercise (stubby legs don't work too well in deep snow). I already need to redo those paths.

Vintage Toro versus neighbors driveway update. I have awarded Chuck the Toro the esteemed Conqueror of the Minnesota Winter medal. The 14-15 inches of snow had compacted to 10-12 inches, within his wheelhouse but he's old as heck so earned the citation.

4,582 here so you got me by 3X for personal and 10X overall. Retired guy, no work commute, plus no trips = no miles. Das Audi turns 8 this year and has only 32K miles on it.

Yeah but you kicked my butt on the bicycle.
