Raising Canes Sucks

Shake shack is so much better then in and out... Bbops is king though and really miss that now that I am out of Iowa.

After having been in CA for a while I'm pretty sure the reason In and Out is popular with locals is that it's by far the cheapest place to eat including fast food like McDs. People with a family can take them to Shake Shack or 5 Guys once or In and Out twice for the same price.

Tourists on vacation go because they've heard about it and feel they must try it (I did). They are often let down because it's just a simple burger and small menu...but for locals I think it's just everything costs so much and it's a very good value. Their milk shakes are actually pretty bad, the fries are unique but cut fresh. The burger is good but like you said Shake Shack is objectively better.

Is In and Out life changing the way some people act? No. Is it way better quality than McDonalds and somehow costs less? Yes.

We ate there Thursday in Iowa City after our daughter's cancer checkup, not our first time we have eaten at one, stopped in Dallas a couple of times. Have to say, average at best, we all got the 3-piece meal, bread was halfass, chicken was almost too hot to eat. Not one of us finished our meal, at least our dogs at home enjoyed it.

That's how I feel about it as well. I lived on the West coast for a while in my 20s and In-N-Out was always a place we went because it was very good for the price. It wasn't like it was life changing, but throw in the secret menu, and it felt special, for the time. There are a lot of alternatives now, that weren't there back when I first tried it, so the "special-ness" has dissipated some. I took my family there, when we visited LA a couple years ago, and none of them were wowed. But it's still a good burger at a good price.

It's almost an acquired taste. I was really not impressed at first. But the simplicity of the fries and animal style (on the fries or the burger, but not both) started to hook me a little.

Typically good service, price, and quality. Especially for fast food.

Not the greatest, but reminds me of home

This just blew my mind. For real. I’m blitzed tho.

Seems we have shifted slightly and BBops has been a theme? Fries are awful. Burgers are the best ever made. Haven’t explored a lot of their menu other than burgers because, well, why?

Haven’t read the entire thread…I’m a fan of Cane’s. But it’s something I want about twice a year.

I’ve been to probably 6 different locations in multiple states and they are almost always slammed with customers.

I was surprised but not shocked to find out it’s the second most profitable fast food franchise behind Chic-fil-a:

Agree on what you say. In and Out isn’t the best out there. But it’s good for how cheap it is amongst its competition thus, it has high value in my opinion.

I will never not be amused by the fast food complaint threads.

Also, McDonalds spicy chicken just has mayo and it rocks. Chic fil a is mediocre.

Raising Canes sells Chicken Tenders, Fries, and Toast. Our kids and grandkids like it. Basic stuff. That sauce makes it. If you don’t like it, don’t go. It’s fast food. I try not to eat much of it.

It ought to be illegal to put shredded lettuce on anything that's sold through a drive through window. I don't know how McDonalds keeps getting away with that.

Didn’t they try separating it one time and people thought it was even worse. Plus it doubled the styrofoam packaging at the time

Need lettuce on a chicken sandwich. Period.
Agree. My issue is with the shredded lettuce getting everywhere unnecessarily. The inside of your car will look like the back of a gardener's pickup for no reason at all.

Ok hear me out. I'm not saying it's the best but it's surprisingly good and it's better than Slim Chickens.

Kwik Star tenders. The meat is tender and moist with some flavor. Breading isn't the crispiest but not bad. With the sweet and spicy sauce and factor in the price I would take it over Raising Cane's.

Chick-fil-A has at least always been a real piece of chicken.

I got a spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s for the first time in years and it’s processed chicken now, in the 90s when I got it all the time it was more like what chic fil a is now.

When McDonalds uses real chicken in anything they launch an ad campaign acting like it’s the first time anybody has used unprocessed chicken. If you order chicken there you have no clue if you’re getting normal chicken or some ground up goo. The menu changes constantly.
