Raising Canes Sucks

Really I always thought hardees and Arbys strips were very similar, maybe it is location dependent.

Culvers is ok, but I hate that they insist on putting salt on everything out of the fryer. I dont like salt on my cheese balls, onion rings or strips, and for a Wisconsin brand I wish there cheeseballs were more the wisconsin style. And I get that you can ask for no salt but always forget to, because most places dont do that. But overall Culvers is pretty far down my list when choosing a place to eat. I feel there are better places to get pretty much everything on their menu.

Culvers changes their cheese curds about a year and a half ago and the new ones blow.

RC chicken isn’t that good, even compared to other fast food places. It’s incredibly bland, and they rely on the sauce for any modicum of flavor. If you don’t love their sauce, the chicken is just flavorless and dry.

I’m sure we have ALL had bad chicken from any one of the fast food chains, but at least Culver’s, Arby’s, Wendy’s, Chick Fil-A, etc. have SOME flavor in their fried chicken, even if the flavor is just salt.

What RC does do well is make a popular sauce, and have pretty good sides (if you like coleslaw and toast).

I'm really disappointed with all of the Popeyes slander in this thread. That is easily the best breaded chicken sandwich in the fast food arena and it's not even close.

I keep seeing all the love for popeyes, and all I can think of is the horrible service and questionable cleanliness I've had every single time I've been to one, no matter what part of the country I've been to.

As far as Canes, it's decent. I used to put a little Tony C's in the sauce to spice it up some.

That said, if we're going to nominate best fried chicken tenders, I'm going to have to only accept only Charleston's restaurant. Granted, it is a little expensive.

SIAP - Anyone in this thread ever listened to the Theo Von podcast where he interviews the founder of Raising Canes (Todd Graves)? Interesting listen for folks who are involved in LEAN and/or JIT manufacturing.

He details the reason RC only offers strips and limited sides, which is because they want a consistent customer experience (no 'one-off' franchisees offering something different - dessert options, different sauces, etc.), it streamlines their purchasing and QC; they also intentionally limit the menu so they can ensure timely service. If you don't like their product they are fine with that, they aren't trying to meet the demands of "everyone", they want to ensure the customer's who like them continue to get the product/service they expect, while they continue to focus on making those items at the highest quality possible.

They also post up close to a CHICK-Fil-A.

I will never not be amused by the fast food complaint threads.

Also, McDonalds spicy chicken just has mayo and it rocks. Chic fil a is mediocre.
Back when the dollar menu was actually a thing 2 spicy McChickens and 1 McDouble was my go to for a quick bite on road trips. Now I only get breakfast food from McD's every now and then. They better never mess up McGriddles or McMuffins.

Im sorry but if you really think McDs chicken esp, the nuggets are better than RC you, have some strange taste.

And I am not sure you even have taste buds. Woof, and Pizza ranch chicken is pretty bad.
Had to quote this one because I can't agree and disagree on the same post but here we are. Your take on McDonalds was right on target. However Pizza Ranch chicken is the only reason I will ever step foot in that place when the family wants to go.

And another thing: We need to stop with the crappy ranch. Give me the real buttermilk **** and knock it off with the crap.

That's always been a gripe of mine at Culvers. Their ranch is absolutely atrocious while everything else is great.

Also, their Alaskan cod sandwich is the best fast food fish sandwich by a mile. The pretzel bites and cheese are awesome too.
