RAGBRAI route

I’ll take “How to Get Hepatitis” for $500 Alex.
Just the overnight stops.
The full route comes out this spring. Seems like usually March-ish.
That means it may actually start in Omaha. The CB pedestrian bridge allows Omaha to participate in RAGBRAI a little bit, which is awesome.
The best RAGBRAI years is when it is hilly, goes through Iowa's smaller towns/cities, and only the hearty riders show up.
To me, the essence of the week is cycling through small town rural Iowa, traveling on undiscovered county roads, and seeing a side of Iowa most people do not understand or appreciate.
Looks like some great overnight towns and should be a fun route.
p.s. There is not much interesting about traveling through already familiar places to most of Iowa's populous (e.g. Des Moines metro, Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Sioux City, Quad Cities). I love when it is "small town" RAGBRAI. Fewer day riders too.

I’m doing the short day, winterset to indianola. It’s the closest to Ames and could be one of the largest crowds ever.
I did Fairfield to Keokuk. I've never spent much time in that corner of the state and was blown away. The small towns were well maintained, and I loved the town squares and quarried limestone buildings. Almost all of the towns (Donnelson and Salem especially) really gave it 100%.
Southern Iowa feels like a completely different world than northern Iowa. Everything is older, and very pastoral. Instead of the wind swept empty Great Plains, you have rolling hills with forests, and a general slower pace of life. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and just awesome. West Point in particular was a highlight. 5 bars, and the bartender at Aggie's was a smoke show.
Nothing highlights why Iowa is an amazing place better than RAGBRAI. I love this state, its people, and the fact that so many folks are willing to drop life for a week in the middle of summer, hop on a bike, and embrace it.

hopefully next year I'll be able to actually ride again the last few years I've only been able to do support for our team (team Me-Offs) and this year had to drop a bit of cash for a new hvac and a lawn tractor to run a snowblower this winter. Plus my son was born earlier this month so momma wasn't wanting me to be gone for a week either.
I just saw this morning that RAGBRAI is doing a Fall Ride on Sunday, October 10th.

$60 for registration, increasing to $70 on October 1st.
No game that weekend so I'm thinking I'll sign up.
Edit: As so eloquently pointed out, the ride is round trip.
