Radon found on inspection

supposedly causes some sort of cancer/ respiratory issues with prolonged exposure. I'm kind of the same way, we lived how many years before this ever became a concern??
I'd venture a guess that it's only been a little more than a half century since basements were finished to a point that people actually spent a lot of time there.
 
Radon. LOL.

It's not a joke, it can cause cancer (radon is part of the uranium decay chain), and there is no truly 100% safe level considering you never know how many DNA-ionizing radiation events your body can repair successfully. Notice anything interesting in the map below (SIAP)?
