From a former recruit's parent. We ended up not offering his son, and he is going somewhere else, but this is what he had to say about the staff:

I hope your fanbase knows what a quality coaching staff they have.
They are building the program the right way, which may take a little
longer, but will be solid for the long term if Iowa State is patient.
No shortcuts, no cheating, just good honest hard work...

Apparently we didnt need him. So the fact that they complimented the coaches even though we didnt offer, says alot.

yeah well Gene is THAT good. he recruits enough guys to fill his classes and helps out Greg on top of it all.

To be fair you really can't tell what forum it's in unless you really look if you click off the front page. Also considering we had something of a big game yesterday in football people have that on the mind.

An infant could make negative comments about Saturday's coaching and it would have merit. BBall and football are mutually independant.

Because the coaching staff screwed up in the football game...and if the bball staff screws up, i wouldn't be afraid to say it.

I can't comment intelligently enough about ISU football or our coaching staff! But he supports bball program because he knows things that you do not!!! ISU basketball is rising stock and I hear that's when you do the buying.... Youthful exuberance??? Perhaps youthful, but well educated!?!?!?!

Because the coaching staff screwed up in the football game...and if the bball staff screws up, i wouldn't be afraid to say it.

I guess we'll find out.

Recruiting is a butt kissing contest, even if they don't offer they are still going to play nice as much as possible... I think you could ask any parent about any coaches and they would probably have some positive things to say...

Of course, you're assuming that the person speaking is incapable of differentiating between "someone who says nice things" and a quality coaching staff.
