Question for Safety Razor Users

I’m finding it pretty much impossible to find shaving soap in the stores I normally did before. So since I’m probably going to be ordering online now, what do you guys like and also is there a huge difference between the low priced brands and the more expensive ones?

I'm a Proraso fan. They have a few different formulas/scents. Have tried a few different kinds and landed on them. Mine seems to last forever but I don't shave a ton.

I use cheap gel. There is a difference but not enough to make me feel I’m getting my moneys worth. The extremely cheap stuff had cans that will stop working at half full too often. Edge is cheap and decent.

Of the big box stores, I like Cremo.
a buddy just sent me a Proraso gift set and it was the most invigorating wet shave I’ve ever had. Highly recommend it.

Still gotta shave the neck beard. For that it’s a can of Barbasol. Aloe if I’m feeling fancy.

Gillette Mach 3 and plain Barbasol guy here. Never had an issue dont want one.

Safety razor, soap, cup, brush,and single-edge blades probably costs about ~25% of cartridges and canned shaving cream. For the same results.

I do the double blades. Seem to go a little quicker and better for me.

I’m a convert from cartridges and foam or gel, but I don’t have a beard so much as a densely populated forest. I admittedly haven’t tried a ton of stuff, but the Proraso green lathers well and definitely does the trick for me. Groom Room in Ames stocks Proraso, which inspires some confidence, too, and is a nice local alternative to online.
