Question for Iowa fans

The Iowa fans that don't want to admit that Purdy is extremely good are just in denial. They don't want to admit it either because they don't want to be wrong, or they honestly can't believe Purdy is putting up these numbers at such a consistent rate.

They'll say he's good but bring up defenses. It's a tale as old as time.

That's such a backhanded compliment though. It's not even saying he's good. It's the same as someone who said they'd take Stanley in a big game but take Purdy in the bad games, while at the same time not bringing up the fact that Stanley only has 3 ranked victories in his career at Iowa, while Purdy has... 3 as well.

Why do we care what Hawk fans think about Purdy again?

3. His first game he played was @ #25 Oklahoma State. The following week he beat #8 West Virginia. Flash to this year where he just beat #22 Texas.
Too bad the cyclone couldn't stay ranked after the UNI game or Stanley would have 4 by that standard :)

Oh, and Texas isn't ranked anymore but if you want to count them fine.

Yeah you can thank the bye week for that. And Texas would still be ranked if Purdy and Iowa State wouldn't have beat them. Just like if we would've been ranked when Iowa beat us, we would've dropped out and that wouldn't have counted for Stanley either.

I believe I was using the AP poll but I'm guessing this is the college football playoff ranking (the only one that really matters imo), so yes. Either way, Purdy has just as many ranked victories.

Stanley played meaningful snaps as a freshman and Purdy didn't even play the first handful of games and he still has as many ranked wins as a senior QB. That's crazy

I agree I mean the first time Purdy touched the field, he beat a ranked Okie State team on the road. Very crazy.
