Would it be safe to say if Tiller loses the job

I would think so. He's allready red shirted one year, so if he were to transfer somewhere to play QB, then he'd sit another year. That doesn't sound too desirable.
We all saw how good of a slot Austin Flynn became, Tiller could be very good as a receiver.
Well see what spring ball brings, but Tiller needs to being working a lot in the off-season with his receivers to stand a chance. I could see him running the Wildcat from time to time.
I don't know much about whats happening in the program. I just get the feeling that it's either going to be Tiller or Barnett.

Tiller Needs to Get Stronger
Tiller has a lot of speed, but IMO he needs to put on 10-15lbs of muscle in the offseason if he's going to be a Big 12 QB. He goes down way too easy.
I don't see him moving to another position because I just don't see the strength needed to play WR or defense.

Reciever is the obvious option (especially since his hands can't be any worse than our current crop), but if he could beat out SJ and Woody I could see him at tailback with a wildcat package designed around using him as an occasional QB.
Whoever wins the job better be ready to go right away. After UNI, we go Iowa, at UCONN, Texas and then at Baylor and Mizzou.
Honestly guys, I really don't know anything about Barnett. Can somebody shed some unbiased light for me about him?
Since he has the most experience, I'll go with Tiller. I'm curious to see what happens during spring ball.
You forgot the option, "Whoever CPR and Tom Herman decide will do the best job at quarterback".
Any other speculation is, at best, premature--but Tiller showed me that with a lot of hard work, he could do the job next Fall.

I dont like thinking of tiller being our starting QB next fall. Great athlete, but our offense has been absolutely anemic when he plays. He's managed a few games well, but I don't see us opening it up with him at QB. He may have and arm, and be able to run, but it is MUCH more important to have a QB that can read D's and throw the ball accurately.
Capello looks Bella accurate, and if he can developed reading skills to boot he could be really special. The benefits of an accurate QB on a team are 10 fold. They reduce turnovers, increase the probability of a catch, and most importantly give WRs the chance for YAC.
I was fortunate enough to each a young QB while I was in NC. A QB that could read defenses and hit a guy in stride. He was labeled as having a weak arm, bad throwing motion, and was predicted to be drafted in the 3rd round after his senior season came to an end. He shot up draft boards after workouts, was drafted in the top 5, and is now on pace to break Dan Marino's passing record. His Alma matter hasn't cracked the top 25 since he left.
His name is of course Philip Rivers. Making the Correct reads and throwing an accurate ball elevated the entire team. I hope Capello has it, because I really don't think Tiller does. I'm afraid we're going to keep searching for the next Seneca....but he was rare.
