I hope it's Tiller i really like his speed, and size:yes:. I'm nervous when AA drops back that he might turn it over.
I don't know if I quite agree with this assessment. I believe both Arnaud and Tiller have a lot of room for improvement, but neither would be on rosters in FBS if they didn't have the talent to play here. I agree that if they continue to play at the level that they played at this season that we're in a world of trouble next year, especially as the schedule gets tougher next season. But to assume both Arnaud and Tiller have peaked already is asinine, especially with this being the first year in Herman's system.
Well put, I'm just a bit more of a fan of Tiller since not only was it his first year but he also was a freshman and thus he has that additional upside.
This is the 3rd coach and the 3rd offensive system since AA has started here. This was the first time that he got the extra 15 bowl practices.
Yes, he made some mistakes yesterday, especially the two interceptions. But the two fumbles......one was a pretty hard hit, and the other was a missed snap/exchange. When you have a qb that you expect to run as much as he does, you are risking the possibility of fumbles, especially once the defense can key on him running.
AA also was 19 of 26 for 216 yards, and had 76 rushing yards. Total offense of 292 yards out of the qb position is not too shabby. Also, he rushed for 2 of the 3 critical first downs on the final time-consuming, game-winning drive.
A win is a win. I also think AA will show a lot of improvement next year with another Spring, and another set of Fall practices with the same coaches and the same system (plus most of the same receivers and backs). I really think next season could be a great break-out year for AA, even if it is his last. Hopefully, Tiller is improving as well.

Then Carlson graduated, and people were concerned about the plan to switch Amundson to the full-time qb position the next year. Amundson responded by taking ISU to another bowl, being names All-American, and being named Big 8 player of the year, ahead of Heisman trophy winner Johnny Rodgers from Nebraska.
So you never know what might happen. I think AA, and Tiller will be fine with this staff.

I agree - we won in spite of our offense (and QB). The second half was awful.
Tom Herman in an interview prior to the game, when asked a question about why his Rice offense was so prolific in passing compared to his first ISU offense, replied with "you have to remember at Rice we had a great QB."
I think there's a message there...
Might want to be prepared ahead of time for a flood of chicken little posts after the spring game. AA has had two sub-par spring games only to come back and win the starting job convincingly in August. He supposedly played the best during the majority of the spring practices but Bates and Tiller had the better final spring games.
AA has been strungling and it is frustrating. He had 4 TO's and we still won. He is an obvious leader and a true leader is hard to come by. It is clear that the rest of the team does follows him. Some people are winners and it may not always be pretty, but they are winners. Tebow is a great example of this. AA will frustrate me in 2010, but I gurentee he will lead us to uncharted sucess. He's a winner plain and simple. The AA haters are the same ones who thought we would have only four wins this season.
I do wish Bates would of stayed to see what he could have turned into. Im exited to see how he does at Ohio
Bates probably would have stayed if he knew that he was going to run Hermans offense in the future.
Sad but probably true. And his teammates raved about him and his personality, and how supportive and outgoing he was.
He would have been the leader on offense, just like Jesse Smith and Frere have been on D.
Would have been nice. Oh well. Who ever is under is center is going to get it done. I have faith in whoever this coaching staff puts in there.
It begs the question again... Why would he leave mid-season? If he would have stayed and made his decision in mid-December (like Schwartz, for example), he would have known that Chizik was gone, and Rhoads was the new coach.
Bates was even more inaccurate than Arnaud when he was here. We need to decide what type of quarterback we want to run this system. A run first or pass first quarterback. I think Herman wants an accurate, pass first QB. I don't think Arnaud, Tiller or Bates is/was that guy. I'm not sure if any of them can be that guy? Capello and Barnett seem more like the guy they are looking for.
