Projected Lineup for next year?

My guess..

125- Vega
133- Parker
141- Storr
149-?? Briceno/ Straw?
157- Straw/ Breitenbach
165- Diblasi/ Breitenbach
174- ?? Swalla/ Entzel/ Pestano/ Hilleman
184- Pestano/ Swalla/ Entzel/ Hilleman
197- Harrington/ Colbray
285- Harrington/ Colbray

Pestano will have enough credits to graduate and I had heard he would be gone but sounds like with the coaching change that may not be the case.

I've heard Simmons will be gone and if he doesn't leave on his own I suspect he won't be around for long as the new coaching staff will likely not let him get away with the same crap he did under this staff. Same goes for Dante.

I think Chase Straw was cutting too much weight at 149 and even though he was solid for portions of this year I think he could really do well if he gets it together. Breitenbach appears far too small for 165 and I would hope he is encouraged to cut back down to 57.

No idea what the plan is for Colbray/Harrington but it would be very beneficial for us to have them both in the lineup. I think bulking Colbray up makes the most sense. He would only need to get up to 220/230 to be effective, I think.

Somebody will need to step up at 174/184, unless Dresser brings somebody new in with him.

Re Simmons and Dante it appears you have a inside source. Is it a wrestler in the room? Why no Gremmel?

I was talking from Teske's POV that he would consider somewhere else. Guessing other universities with less lightweight depth could offer a better financial package. Not ruling ISU out.

Have heard PSU, ISU, IA and MN connections to this point. Guessing plenty others have expressed interest as well.

Any word on who is most involved with Alex Thomsen? Haven't seen us mentioned much in the past and don't expect him to wind up at ISU just curious really. I'll be following him wherever he winds up but hoping it's not Iowa City.

What has Gremmel done? Disorderly conduct which probably was thrown out. If that is the worst thing he has done then he is doing better than a lot of college students. I feel like most people are down on him for have surgery and not wrestling this season. He has recently been released to work out and coaches love his attitude in regards to hating to lose even in practice. Ok, he may be cocky or whatever you want to call it. Heck, over 50% of Iowa wrestlers would be kicked off the team if this was a crime. I am not privy to any inside information on Gremmel so maybe there is more to it but noone has stated anything different. Not liking someone is not reason for kicking them to the curve.

I'd say the big question is how many guys were getting away with stuff because they could and are willing/able to buckle down when expectations are raised.

Yeah, I'd give the benefit of the doubt to RS'ing wrestlers because they don't compete for a very large portion of the year and its their first year in college. Most find a way to get it together when their eligibility is on the line, which is a pretty good motivating factor.

Dresser is not afraid to use true freshman. Wasn't McFadden a true freshman AA? I thought he had another one also.
