Prohm got pissed

Are you kidding? I’ve made an extensive and consistent argument:

Steve Prohm has an extreme flaw in his coaching philosophy which gets greatly exposed when coaching against superior in game coaches. That flaw is that he is passive and slow to adjust.

He wants his players to figure it out on the floor by themselves (because he can’t figure it out for them in the huddle). He also runs an offense with little structure and complexity which is easily stifled by good coaching.

His typical timeout huddle speech of “we’ve got to be better” instead of coaching them towards an adjustment is comical.

This style works at a mid major, but in league full of good coaches like the Big 12, it gets abused.

So go ahead and tell me how dumb this is and how bad of a fan in am. I don’t care.

So do you sit close enough to the bench or you on the coaching staff so you know that is what is happening?

Would Prohm be a better coach if TTU misses two 3's at the end of the first half and we make two more free throws?

Makes you wonder how we got 73 points if he is so easy to stifle.

Have you actually heard an entire huddle speech? Or just the "made for TV" moments?

Prohm is not passive. How on earth did he stomp K-State in Manhattan?

wonder if same guy?

I agree that Hilton has basically turned into a funeral and people should keep their mouths shut

Crowd sounded pretty good on the radio. But yelling dumb ass **** at the coach while he is announcing the seniors and thanking people for their support is classless. If your so disappointed in the BB team and coaching staff be sure to email Pollard and the coach direct so you don't have to hide behind a screen name.

If we are seeking answers to questions here I’d ask why ISU is 9-9 in conference and 2-6 (soon to be 2-8) down the stretch? Especially given the fact that they have the talent to stomp K-State in Manhattan?

Fred had great offenses here because he had spacing, shooters, and grown men to create mismatches. Not lightening quick adjustments.

LOL. You think that spacing just happened on accident? The shooters and grown men transfers accidentally showed up here? Fred had his own coaching flaws, but the things you mention are exactly what made Fred better than most coaches, an elite offensive mind who exploited mismatches.

He constantly preaches spacing. Meanwhile Prohm cant get his guys to stay spaced on the corners and wings this year. Got guys drifting up the line at the same time our ballhandler is trying to drive the gap.

Our ballscreen game is non-existent, no purpose or pace to it (partially a Babb problem but Prohm has to coach him thru that.).

And as FERshizzle said, Fred was damn good at making quick offensive adjustments and ATOs. When we needed a great set and bucket late, more times than not we got it. I'm not even confident we can get a shot up after a Prohm TO.

If you want to criticize Fred's defensive performance, that's fine, he didnt care about it anyway. For as much time as Prohm spends on defense every day in practice, the results are showing. Could learn quite a bit from Coach Beard.

Fred sucks

What is the point of constantly bringing up Hoiberg? What are you trying to acheive?

Well, I didnt bring up Hoiberg. Just happened to see some clueless poster say Hoiberg had no part in creating great offensive teams, so I explained why he was wrong.

From now on I'll compare Prohm to other coaches around the country. I just want to have an open conversation about what great coaching traits does Steve have that are showing up in games? He, and his team, are really struggling to have any redeeming identity.

Do you work at being pessimistic and negative, or does it just come naturally?

Why can't people just answer questions and have a discussion? What did he say thats so bad you have to call him negative? If you don't agree with what the poster is asking, give a concrete reply to support your argument.

Are you following the thread? Marty essentially condoned the nameless "fan" and his behavior since Marty is a Prohm hater himself.

KC rightfully called him out for it.

Simply put, pessimism is expecting the worst. Expecting that the team will win no more games is pessimism.
Negative is seeing only the worst in things. Seeing 9-9 in conference while ignoring 20 wins and the 7th trip to the NCAA's in 8 years is negativity.

Does that satisfy you?

I don't agree with what the heckler did. But Marty being critical of Prohm on a message board does not equate him to what the "fan" did during the ceremony. Like it or not, Prohm has a lot of work to do.
