Prohm Defenders

Betting and fandom are two different things.

I don't see it much different than making predictions.

Sure you want your team to do well but if you think the opponent is flat better than your team, it's hard to expect a win.

I bet on iowa because it was an easy way to make money. At no point was I rooting for iowa but 200 dollars is 200 dollars.
Exactly- plus, it’s not as though my little bet at Prairie Meadows changes the outcome of the game...if it did, I’d bet on the Clones every Saturday and ride it all the way to the playoffs!

I'm not sure the last time I could be considered a Prohm defender, but I haven't watched a ton of ISU basketball the last several years. Probably a sign that changes need to be made.

I can't remember watching a specific game in the past 3 seasons. I'm sure there's been a game or two but nothing noteworthy. It is time for a change.

Foster has already committed to a maximum of 2 years at Iowa State. He’s not here to help make the team better, he’s here for a stepping stone to the next level.

I guess if he's good enough to go so be it. Right now I'm guessing he'd end up in Europe or the g league. Europe especially isn't bad money, beats 9-5ing it for a living.

Thats true. But Fran put them in a system that has made them better.

But none of them are heads and shoulders more talented than our core group. I know Iowa has played together a lot more but that’s been Prohm’s biggest issue IMO, he’s always shifting pieces in and out of the program whereas Fran recruited people that fit his system. Hell, Prohm doesn’t even HAVE a system to recruit to.

Unluckily, I believe we do it's called jack up ugly looking threes and play Ole' defense.

I thought this season was supposed to be better because the incoming players were going to be an improvement over who left the program, and the players that stayed were going to develope. Instead we get the worst loss in iowa isu history and lose to sdsu.

Agreed. I want guys who will buy into the program, not guys who already have a foot out the door before they even stepped foot on campus. That’s the biggest problem with this program right now.

need to add context. Can’t say incoming players are improvement over who left when we had a lottery pick. Also, meaningful players that stayed are Conditt, Bolton, and Young. A whole bunch of newbies after that. This Covid year has screwed a lot of things up, andthis team has not had the opportunity nor time to learn to gel with each other. The only teams that will be successful this year are the ones with 4 year starters (IOWA) because they have already built chemistry. Look at Duke.
Best to just enjoy the ride and look for improvement. It’s going to be rough..but we’ve been there before

You are right CSP has NO system...I doubt that Steve will ever have a system ...He will just make it up on the fly....
