Prediction: ISU @ OU

This team is still making a lot of mistakes. Penalties and TO'S. We are averaging about 3 TO's a game. If OU plays clean we don't win.

We rank 67th in pass yards per game. Texas Tech and Baylor rank 8th and 5th repectively.

I don't think that's an accurate stat though, Steele was a starter for 7 of our games. Barnett isn't lighting the world on fire throwing the ball but he is doing a pretty good job and quietly piling up yards. And don't forget he gets huge chunks of yards scrambling on pass plays. As long as we hold on to the ball well put up some points on OU for sure.

Barnett get's better each week at the passing game.

I don't know what happens, but I think we'll be competitive.

Its plenty accurate. He is winning because he is a great scrambler/runner and not turning the ball over, not because he's a great passer.

OU is bad deep, Barnett's arm isn't big enough to throw deep, thus we can't really expose their weakness.

OU 27

ISU 24

I hope

is this the first time an oklahoma fan has ever "hoped" to beat iowa state? Shows where we're at as a program i guess. Much like nebraska rushing the field after they beat us in OT last year.

Prediction: Iowa State hangs close. I don't think we'll ever be a serious threat to win this game. Both teams kick 2-5 field goals.

30-16 OU

keys to victory:
We need to win the turnover battle 3-1 or so. Score touchdowns in the red zone. and get off the field on defensive 3rd downs. We definitely CAN win this game. I just don't think we will.

I live in Norman now and everyone down here, including all the newspaper writers, are still replaying the loss to Baylor and talking about the game with OSU. ISU is an after-thought!

Hopefully the players are doing the same.

I do not know if we can pull off a win, but I will be disappointed if I watch another blowout like I did last year down here.

The weather is supposed to be in the 40's with 30 MPH winds, which favors thier experienced QB versus our young QB. If they load the box it will be hard to run on these guys.

Heres an interesting stat, since 1999 when Bob stoops arrived at OU, ISU has only scored 12 points @Oklahoma. Just 12!

49-3
34-9
52-0

If this years team can score 2 touchdowns, we will beat our previous 3 year total. Wow.

Our offense is better with Barnett at the helm vs. Jantz,
Barnett better than injured Jantz. Probably less up-and-down than healthy Jantz. I think Jantz can do things Barnett can't (make a play out of nothing). I also think he did more bad things (turnovers).

I still would say it's a 3 person quarterback competition next year. And that's assuming no Tiller. If Jantz is healthy and can eliminate the mistakes (turnovers), I think he'll be right in the mix.

Hard to just lump all of our games into an average when we've been 3 very different teams through the year.

First 3 games with health Jantz.
Next 4 games with injured Jantz, injured KO, Burris, Knott; "breaking in" newish guys on O-line and D-line.
Last 3 games with healthy Barnett and the newish guys on O-line and D-line not-so-newish anymore. KO, Knott not-so-injured.

Oh -- and we lost Shontrelle in there somewhere.

Barnett better than injured Jantz. Probably more even than healthy Jantz. I think Jantz can do things Barnett can't (make a play out of nothing). I also think he did more bad things (turnovers).

I don't think that the difference is the quarterbacks, but rather, how Herman has changed his philosophy since Barnett took over.

When Jantz was the starter, ISU came off the bus throwing; with Barnett under center, Herman has committed to the zone-read. ISU has slowed down the tempo, and displayed patience while grinding it out behind a deep and talented offensive line. The jet-tempo offense is used sparingly. The 'Clones are now controlling the clock, and playing for field position.

The ISU defense, which is quick and athletic, was getting worn down too soon in the early season games. Now that they are confident in their offense, the defensive unit has laid it on the line every series, confident they'll have time on the sidelines to catch their breath because the offense won't give the ball away. The results are a three-game winning streak, and confidence is at an all-time high.

Our trips to Norman have been brutal, and I'm afraid to even think about having hopes for a win, but I can't help it. CPR is erasing the history of this football team and writing a new chapter. This isn't the same Oklahoma team we're used to seeing, and this ISU team is different too. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, and I believe. I think ISU hits Oklahoma coming off the bus and doesn't let up for 60 minutes. I am predicting a 17-13 ISU shocker in Norman.

It is clear that adjusting to the injuries played a key role in that 4 game slide.

Well, if we can get to the second-half still in a competitive game, we'll have "Big Game Bob" going for us, which is nice.

Man I may regret this , But I believe we can beat them it is senior day ,but going for the good guys in a shoot out 31 ISU 28 OU
Going all out I am impressed with our defense and offense Hope no let downs !
