Not a great look but not surprised either...I'm going to assume TCU and OSU are there throughout the season though as I can't expect them to repeat down seasons.

Also you missed WV--I don't expect them to be there.

Stealing this to put in opening comment of thread.

Thanks :D

I never in my life thought there would be a preseason AP poll with three Big 12 teams ranked... OU and UT are the givens... and Iowa State would be the third one.

I really do not know how to handle this.

No sign of baylor. Interesting since a lot of people picking them as a darkhorse for big 12 and beating isu

Thx....I always miss those hillbillies.

No votes for Baylor. With their out of conference schedule I doubt they get ranked by the time we play them, and that is projected be the second hardest game for us after OU. Idk how TCU, WVU, and Okie St got votes but Baylor didn't. After the three Big 12 teams that are ranked, there are no other Big 12 teams even close to getting ranked. Shows the blatant disrespect the Big 12 gets as a P5 from the AP. ACC got no love either. I know the CFP committee supposedly doesn't take AP into account, but they have to a little bit.

Big 10: 7 ranked, 9 total received votes
SEC: 6 ranked (all in top 16, to give nice wiggle room for some losses), 9 total received votes
Pac-12: 5 ranked, 8 total received votes
Big 12: 3 ranked, 6 total received votes
ACC: 2 ranked, 5 total received votes

imo, they are too high on Big 10 by a long shot (there is no reason to rank half a conference), too high on SEC as far as rankings and # receiving votes, Pac is about right, too low on Big 12 and ACC.

The PAC 12 love (5 of the top 25) is inexplicable given the past 3-5 years. Simply a function of the percentage of West Coast AP voters...

No doubt. The Pac 12 has been HORRID the past couple of years. Complete ******** that they have 5 in the Top 25.

Also, I hate Baylor as much as the next guy, but them not having any votes is baloney too.

it’s like people forget we were 3-9 in 2016 and jumped to 8-5 in 2017 and finished the year ranked. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Nebraska to make a big jump in year one to year two. They have a good coach who is recruiting well and they made a lot of strides last year.

Beat that Nebraska drum.

I hate Nebraska as much as anyone but I don’t see anything wrong with them being ranked 24th. I’d put them right outside the top 25. Yes they were 4-8 but their last five games were definitely a different team.
so was Campbells team 3 years ago, doesn't mean it warrants a top 25 preseason ranking. Or if it does the goalposts have moved. I know, I know "Nebraska has the brand name", and I am somewhat joking, but do they really deserve the brand at this point? I guess it does hold water for those old AP voters, but I don't understand that much of a jump.
