Potential Transfers '14

I agree. The system appeared to be more important than what actually worked best for the players we had.
The system was the UNI stay in the game slo ball system. McD learned a lot of lessons over his clone tenure. Looks like he has gradually adjusted to speed ball at CU Later.

Really. He was all big 12. I would call that great. He was a great college player. You should have watched him play. Nobody could guard him in college. His game just didnt translate. Also he was a top 25 pick in the NBA. I would call that great.

Yes really, you're stretching great to the breaking point.

How in the he11 does "nobody could guard him" get followed by "game didn't translate"? What?

I did watch him play and saw guys like John Shurna own him near the rim. That's not great.

Here's an update on Mason. We threw his name around on here.

@GoodmanESPN: Niagara transfer @antoine_mason has his release, has been bombarded by schools. Cincy, Okl St, Seton Hall, St. John's, Prov, Auburn (cont'd)

@GoodmanESPN: .@Antoine_Mason also heard from Wake, Maryland, Mizzou, Texas A&M, Memphis, LSU, Tenn, Oregon, Va Tech, BC, UCLA, Nevada, Fordham.

Two takeaways: only one (Oklahoma State) Big 12 school on him so far and Bruce Pearl is totally trying to copy Hoiberg's transfer strategy. He is involved in so many transfers.

auburn is going to be really bad next year unless they get some proven guys. It makes sense.

That's what I thought too about Pearl. He's only brought in 1 so far so it doesn't seem like he's been as successful as Fred though. If this is a strategy that many coaches start to use I think we'll eventually find out what could have happened to us if Fred wasn't able to control the transfers.

Brackins needed to develop more strength and as a defender, but he had elite offensive skills. He could shoot and score.

Some on here wanted ISU to pursue him because he is also a Marshall transfer like DK50 but it looks like we did the right thing. Talk about flip flopping.

@GoodmanESPN: Kareem Canty told ESPN he has re-considered and is now heading to Auburn after initially committing to Auburn, then committing to South Fla.

Must have been a super intense auction.

As I've said multiple times, Bruce Pearl watched first hand (as an analyst during his suspension) as Hoiberg rebuilt ISU with transfers and he is going to try and do the same at Auburn. I believe this is the second transfer he has landed already. And it's one guy people on here wanted.

@ESPNCBB: The nation's leading returning scorer (25.6 ppg) RT @Antoine_Mason: It's Official I Will Be Wearing Orange and Blue #14 at Auburn University

@EvanDaniels: Wally Ellenson is transferring to Marquette, per a source. He has two years of eligibility left. He was at Minnesota last year.

This could be big news in regards to Henry's recruitment for ISU. He has indicated in the past he would like to play with his brother and recently visited Marquette.

He won't be playing with his brother even if he goes to Marquette.

Well would he not redshirt next year, then have two years to play? That would mean he would play 1 year with his brother. I could be wrong. You seem very confident about it.

I don't think its big news to ISU because as of late we weren't even being mentioned along with other teams by him in his article's quotes. If he doesn't go to Marquette with his bro I'm going to guess Wisconsin or Duke.

His brother is not very good. He wasn't getting playing time at Minnesota, so while they may be on the same team they won't be playing together.

I am not sure who Coach Bill is but, he tweeted he doesn't think Marquette is a big enough stage for Henry E. I know the Golden Eagles play in the Big East but they do put a lot of money into their program and have a recent history of success.

ELITE 2015 forward @Hjellenson 's brother Wally is transferring to Marquette. Henry has said he wants BIG "stage.".. Marquette is not that

Buzz isn't coaching there anymore, the Big East is falling apart. I think this Coach Bill guy makes a valid point.
