Potential Transfers '14

It will be really interesting to see how the last 1-2 scholarships shake out with Williams in the fold

Do we look for another graduate transfer or maybe a guard that can sit for a year?

I almost feel bad for current rosters that may see minutes diminish with all the talent that we keep getting. Almost.

Guess that Faust may become the next priority for the staff... he could come in and fill the Kane, Dejean-Jones, skill set (athletic slasher 2/3 guard) for the team in 2015.
Personally I would like ISU to persue Danuel House, 5 star SF from Houston would be a huge get. Though until he gets his release we'll have to wait and see if he is even intresed in leaving Texas.

A PF or C 5th year transfer would be ideal, but considering most 5th year transfers are looking for a starting spot the staff would have convincing to do.

Well, we could only have Hogue and Georges for some of first semester and beating out Edozie should not be too hard. Even with Nader, there is a starting spot open if you are a good post. Second semester will be a competition for minutes, but we only have two players proven at the high-major level. Any good program will have that many. More importantly to a guy like Horford, we have no one that is 6'10" and 250- a guy with that size and better offense than Edozie will get minutes at worst as the third post.

Faust and Anderson would have us absolutely loaded of 15-16.
And have a 6-senior class...not that I would be against it.

If we were to take a redshirt post, I think it would be a guy like Thomas from Houston, who is 6'8" 240 and more physical. I would also be game for Cole Huff still. You can do a lot of things with guys at 6'8"with a handle and 40% 3P shot.

I think we take a 5th year post before a redshirt forward though.

I thing West Virginia will be a player for Nick Faust. I think they may end up being the team to beat for him.

Speaking of Horford St. John's is targeting him. They lost a lot to transfers and the NBA this year so Lavin can definetly offer playing time.

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's has had good preliminary talks with Michigan transfer Jon Horford, source confirms. #sjubb
@AdamZagoria: St. John's is also targeting Jon Horford, who will be immediately eligible upon leaving Michigan, sources told @SNYtv

I've got this right, don't I? Darien Williams doesn't use a scholarship up for us this year while he redshirts and finishes JUCO degree. He goes down as a 2015 scholarship and still has three years. Meaning, we still have two to give yet this year. Correct?

St Johns post that was transferring wants to stay at SJU

So who will be visiting next?

That's the million dollar question with BDJ on board for next year and Williams for the following year.

Still have two more scholarships to use if we want to for 2014-15, and I would imagine we'll use at least one of those.

Immediately eligible or someone that sits? What position?

It will be interesting to see what happens. Our biggest need is an immediate post player but we already have 10 guys that can play legitimate minutes next year. The following year we are pretty loaded too.

Not a bad problem to have.
