This would be a fantastic get.
Only thing I don't like about Anderson is he would waste a scholarship for 2 years to only play one year. I'm fine with transfers sitting, but I'd prefer they play at least 2 years.
This. I'd prefer guys who can play right away. Now if we get two eligible guys lined up and we have an extra we can use on a really good get who has to sit a year but play in 2015-16, I'd be down
Ha, we have at least 3 open scholarships at this point. You can't have 13 people playing in a rotation anyway, just ask Fran. Why would we not want a proven stud big man to sit for a year and then make up for the loss of Hogue?
There's really no downside. If we don't land a guy like this, there is a really good chance that we'll sit on one of the spots anyway and that does absolutely no good.
It's only wasted if it wasn't going to be open. I'd rather "waste it" on a guy who would definitely contribute for one year than give it to a project who may not pan out.
There's a good chance there will be one or two schollies not being used at all next year anyway if they're gonna be that picky.
It also makes practices more competitive which has been an underrated part of the transfer process IMO
You certainly don't pass up a big man that averaged 14 and 7 for the outside chance that a mid-year transfer comes up. It will boil down to whether or not we can fill the 3 spots with good transfers. If we can, we use all of them. If not, we'll bank it.
Looks like the BC kid is originally from California and besides BC, all his other offers were from out west. Think he goes back?
