Potential Transfers '14

Man, I really like Obekpa's potential. He led the nation in block rate last year, as a freshman, blocking 16% more shots per possession than senior Jeff Withey, and Anthony Davis the year before, and he was just as good this year. He's definitely a minus on offense, and that's not likely to change before his eligibility is up, but he could sit out a year, work on setting screens, short jumpers, and feel around the basket, and be a high-impact player as a junior and senior. Hope we take a look.

I asked Jeff Borzello:

@jeffborzello: No. RT @Cade4ISU: Iowa State for Obekpa?

Obekpa's original recruitment was very shady. Had those handlers that everyone hates.

Maurice Watson Jr. was already bandied about earlier in the thread. Think he is a solid player. Where the argument lies is whether he can play the 1 or the 2. The rest of the Terrier transfers are small potatoes in my opinion. Don't want.

Update on Watson Jr.
ISU doesn't look involved as you would expect with Monte and Clayton on roster next year. Thought it was interesting Kansas is actively looking to fix the PG. Curious if Self is regretting not offering C Custer at this point?

Your right. Iowa State not in the mix. Looks like Villanova is the front-runner early on for his services...

There are going to be several tranfers coming out this month. Patience is a virtue as well. Sometimes the wait and see approach proves to be fruitful, especially if there is a high caliber transfer available late in the offseason.

Watson has to sit out a year, right? I sure hope so if he goes to KU. He's good.

As far as Cole Huff goes, I would love to take him, however he wants to go closer to home and he is from California. His coach has barred him from transferring in the MWC, WCC and Pac 12.

That makes it a bit difficult to find a school.

Maybe Justin Hamilton can find him a map to get him to ISU closer to home
