Potential Transfers '14

Take it for what it's worth, because I know everyone is a self proclaimed expert. But I know from a very reliable source that Bryce Dejean- Jones reached out and called Fred. Unsure whether Fred is interested in BDJ, but he has at least some interest level in us, FWIW.

Would you be willing to identify this persons relation to the source, as in works for the program, related to a coach, a friend of Dejean-Jones?

Yes ******* please. BDJ fits the role of what we're missing next year. I'd gladly take him and Obi.

Sorry, can you repeat, I spaced off thinking of championships...

For anyone interested, here is Bryce Dejean-Jones original recruiting profiles:

He was top 100 with both agencies

BDJ would be a fantastic addition if he realizes the implications. If he understands that he has to be done with the drama and issues of his old school and embrace the team and the opportunity, it could be a very good thing for all parties involved.

He would fit in perfectly, Naz and Matt cannot get to the rim and finish very will, even Monte missed his share of penetration shots. Need that slasher.

Agreed. A slasher is a 3rd dimension to go with Niang and Monte on initiating offense. Basically he would get us back to where we are with Kane.

Isn't Nader already a bit of a slasher?

I had thought he'd be similar game to Ejim with better ball skills but less of a post presence.

My guess on nader is like Hogue slashing to the basket and then Ejim from the perimeter. He is a good jumpshooter from what I could tell from the Fred Hoiberg Show special

I thought Naz was a fantastic finisher by the end of the year. Monte needs some serious work, though.

It's extremely untraditional, but should we get BJD and another big that can play right away, it would be nice to see Thomas and/or Custer redshirt.

While both would receive playing time, it wouldn't be as much as they would probably like, and it would be an extra year for them to improve. I mean, depth is nice, but we potentially have an 11 man deep rotation. That's unheard of.
