Potential Transfers '14

3 transfers and the list of potential transfers is getting HUGE. I like our chances to get whoever we want.

Agreed. It's a great problem to have when you're so dependent on transfers like we are, but I can barely keep track of all the possibilities out there

Can someone compile a transfer list for Iowa State to see which players have named Iowa State has having interest? I feel kind of lost with all these names.

I think we were dependent on transfers when Fred got here. Now we have a solid mix of high school recruits and the transfers are becoming more of a compliment to the team, rather than being the whole team.

You're fooling yourself if you think we're not dependent on transfers. We've taken 3 HS commits in the last 2 years and we'll likely have at least 2 transfers and a JUCO starting for us next year (likely 3 transfers in out top 8).

Off the top of my head:

Bryce Dejean-Jones (obviously)
Ian Chiles (I think this ship has sailed though)
Ryan Anderson (must sit out)
Nick Faust (must sit out)

I'm pretty sure those are the only ones that have documented ISU interest. I would be shocked if those are the only players we end up going after, though.

I think it not that large right now. Off the top of my head:

-BDJ (#1 target, on campus)
-Nick Faust, Jr, Maryland, 6'6" guard, needs to redshirt, reported "contact made"
-Ryan Anderson, Jr, Boston College, 6'8" forward, needs to redshirt, reported "contact made"
-Bowers, juco transfer, 6'7" forward, immediately eligible, CW reported interest
-Ian Chiles, Jr, IUPUI, 6'1". guard. immediately eligible, reported contact made

Haha same list as mine excepting Bowers. I generally don't view JUCOs as being "transfers" per se, but it makes sense in the contact of where we are in the recruiting season.

Since Bowers had an LOI to a different school, he's sort of in between a JUCO and a transfer

Meh, that'd be like saying that a high school prospect who got released from his LOI due to a coach change is in between a high school recruit and a transfer. He still has the same eligibility and isn't subject to transfer rules and is therefore different than a transfer who was previously enrolled in a 4 year university. A semantical and rather pointless distinction to be had I suppose.

I'm not sure why we're going after Bowers? He's supposedly one of the top JUCO's in the nation, but he looks more like a half court player to me versus a fast paced guy. Plus he ate a bag of weed too when pulled over by police.

It's not that he wouldn't have a chance to be good for us, I just think Fred can do better, that's all.
