Possible Bad News

However, I never could understand why these 5 star kids go to Duke to be just another face rather than going to a school where they will be a legend.

Players of this caliber believe they will go to Duke and be a legend at Duke. And at the same time get tremendous exposure and have a solid chance at a Final Four / Championship as well as being a high draft pick. Players of this caliber are of this caliber partly because of their confidence.

Duke wont have a spot for him if he waits that long.
Yur right the old Dukies want an early commitment from hb so they can get on with the rest of their recruiting class....

Iowa State basketball doesnt matter anymore...quoting Martha Tyrell

Quoting Cybob...YOU DON'T MATTER ANYMORE MARTHA ER MARTINE ER MARTHA...HEAR THAT OLD BOY???:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

The writing was on the wall a really long time ago when he said he wanted to go somewhere with a really good business school... Duke makes a lot of sense for HB. Wish he would have stayed, but in his shoes I would have done the same thing. It's easy to switch allegiances to a school when you're picking out the college you're going to. I was a hawk fan (shudder) until I chose to go to ISU for architecture...

Actually, you are dead WRONG!! Although Duke has a great graduate business school (Fuqua)...their undergraduate program is basically a liberal arts program...you cannot as an undergraduate major or minor in business...they only thing they offer from a business standpoint in the undergraduate realm is something they call a certificate...which is not a full fledged degree.

Stephen Curry is a perfect example of how you can play at a school that's not Duke, UNC, Kansas... and still have major national exposure, tourny time... You just need decent players around you, and to put up numbers like Curry. No reason HB couldn't do that at ISU. He could even be better than Curry if his game reflects his class rankings.

You are correct about getting national exposure elsewhere.

However, part of the reason that Curry gets so much national exposure is that none of the big boys wanted him (very unlike the Barnes recruitment). The other part of the story is that his dad was a very good NBA player.

The story is how does a kid with his bloodlines get missed by all the big boys and then goes to a small school and drops 30 a game every night while almost leading his team to the Final Four. The big boys are not missing on Barnes by not recruiting him.

Hilton has not been the same the last 6-7 years. During Floyd's era or Orr our chants would have mean't something, but our wimpy ones do not mean really anything. Reason tradition, we had some during the Orr, Floyd years, but now? I do not like how they have the student sections set up I think it is useless I really wish they would change that. Think about it the students are paying alot of money to attend this fine University. A Duke type of set up is what ISU needs in order to get anything going it is intimidating and is Hilton that way? It used to be but now I would say it is lacking. The students is what makes the crowd go so to me it is not fair they are at opposite sides of the court.

hopefully, this post will not get deleted (again). What did you expect him to do?

I hope HB is sitting at home right now reading this crap. He has gone this far with no letting anyone know where he wants to go, why now would he leak it out now?

He will go for one year anyways and end up in the NBA...Hes one hell of a Bball player ladies and gentlemen

I've been told by a couple of people to expect him to stay in school for 3 years.

The kid isn't your average star, he has a solid head on his shoulders
