Here are a few names to keep an eye on in the coming weeks as far as Iowa State's men's basketball recruiting goes. They could attract some interest from ISU.

Bo Barnes – 6-foot-4 SG – Scottsdale Christian Academy

Barnes averaged 19.2 points per game as a senior and is a legitimate 3-point threat. In an interesting note about Barnes, his father, Jake Barnes is a professional rodeo man. Barnes is also receiving interest from Hawaii, South Carolina, Oregon State and Penn State. Hawaii is going through a coaching search right now so I'd scratch them from the list. Northwestern’s Kevin Coble also went to Scottsdale Christian Academy. The two are supposedly very similar players.

Jesse Perry – 6-foot-8, 210-pound PF – John A. Logan CC

This one seems like a long shot to me. Perry has a handful of offers from the likes of Arizona, South Carolina, Missouri, Oklahoma State etc. I’m assuming that Iowa State will try to sneak in this thing late but do not hold your breath.

Andre Clark – 6-foot-9, 225-pound PF – John A. Logan CC

Like Perry, Clark is an Illinois JUCO prospect who holds some quality offers. Ole Miss, Penn State and TCU look to be the major players in Clark's recruitment.

I’ll keep working the men’s basketball recruiting front for you all in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

Are there no centers out there to target? I was really hoping for another big body or two.

Don't need centers to play necessarily. A 6'9 athletic PF like Clark is about the same as a 6'11 stiff center

I'd rather go with a 3 guard, 2 forward lineup

Kind of Mizzou-style. I wouldn't mind being configured for that style of play.

Or like we played 1/2 the year whenever Ham was on the bench. Dendy and Brackins aren't centers but they were both on the court at the same time and we did OK

Dendy on the back end of a press, in a shot-blocking role, seems like something with a whole lot of potential.

I think 2 PFs is just fine. If you've got two guys that can be physical and can jump (and even block out), you're fine.

Jake Barnes (Bo Barnes's father) isn't just a rodeo man, he's a 7 time world champion team roper, and is considered one of the all-time greats in his sport.

We'll we need him on the team for practice ala the Mighty Ducks 2! He can rope players getting out of line for Mac.

I no we need bigs but it would be nice to get an athletic guard who has an outside shot that is in the mold of a true 2 and not a pg. Am i missing something in phillips because i hear he is more of a pg/slasher and not an outside shooter.

Ok, this board has had an obsession with a Bo and a Barnes.....now a Bo Barnes? Wow, I don't know that CF can handle that!
It would be the best of both worlds. You may be right though, it would be so awesome that cyclone fanatic may have a nuclear meltdown.

We definately could use a shooter... that's for sure. Outside of Scotty, we don't really have one.

Shooting is the one thing I've noticed big time in the NCAA Tourney thus far. Ohio shot down Georgetown with great shooting... period! And we don't have shooting folks.

No, we don't. If we had some 3-point shooting, some of these games might have been different. We couldn't spread out a defense at all.
