Ponder this…

Big 12 is the best conference... yes, but its also overrated. Much in the same way SEC football has been overrated in the past.
What are you smoking big hoss? Made the last 3 championship games, with 3 different teams, and have had the last 2 winners. And, at the time they cancelled the 2020 tournament, Kansas was number 1 and Baylor number 5. How can you possibly say the big 12 is overrated or needs to make a final four to validate how good it is? You, sir or ma’am, are a moron.

It’s really not overrated. The SEC is overrated because they talk about the entire conference being great when their bottom has just as many ****** teams. The Big 12 usually has 1-2 bad teams. This year we have zero, with OU now being the worst team who’s an average team. They’d be top half of other conferences.

The Big 12 doesn’t have a single team that’s under .500. That is insane.

Big 10 - 3
SEC - 3
Big East - 3
PAC 12 - 4
ACC - 5

I think the answer to why the big 12 is overrated can be found by exploring how conferences are ultimately measured. Like it or not, fair or not, NCAA tournament success is how this will be measured.

Interesting you seem to disagree with the idea that getting into a final four is imperative for the big 12 to ultimately be highly regarded, but you cite the 2 previous national champions as evidence for why the big 12 is the best (plus Texas Tech). I’m curious what your criteria actually are since you seem to contradict yourself inherently? Is your criteria ONLY related to the national champion?

You could also apply a simple thought experiment: The big 12 is either 1) Overrated 2) appropriately rated, or 3) underrated. I think you would agree we can rule out # 3 so we are left with #1 or # 2. Keep in mind NCAA tourney results will dictate this narrative, will the big 12 have 8 teams in the round of 32? Unlikely. 4 teams in the sweet sixteen (possible yes, but unlikely).

You can also cherry pick certain outcomes to support whatever argument you want to make (while ignoring any disconfirming evidence). OU blasting Alabama, ISU getting crushed by SEC and Big 10 teams, but the answer is, and has always been, that the difference between the worst conference and the best conference is much less than the media and fans like to portray or discuss.

So yes, the big 12 is overrated. Still the best and most difficult to play in, but overrated.

Yes, it sucks to squander leads, but Tech beating 3 ranked teams at home in a row - including the current conference front runner - is making that loss a little more understandable. There aren't any bad teams in the Big 12 and any team can beat any other team, especially when the underdog is playing at home.
I get what you're saying, but to lose a 2nd half, 23 pt lead to that team was horrible. They didn't have a full squad either, down two starters.

So if we’re following your logic here.. Every conference is then overrated? Lol

Again you lose everyone saying the big 12 is overrated. It is simply not true. We are, by far and away, the best conference. Winning the last 2 has helped in the medias eyes, or when you say measured on March success, but analytically this conference has been the best for going on a decade now. So, again, not overrated, I think you just like to type out nonsense and see what happens.
