Looking at Bearcats, they beat EKU and then a bad Pittsburgh team (currently 1-4). Then lost 3 in a row to Miami Ohio, Oklahoma and BYU. So, no real reason to fear them or even see why they would be favored. I think we should count on Heacock to win this one. It sounds to me by his press conference he is mad as he!! with giving up yards and points and is not going to take it anymore!!

I’m not sure that there is any reason to “fear” Cincy—but they are an opponent to respect, and it is their homecoming.

Even more importantly, we have a young team that is learning to play together, and part of that learning process is learning to play well on the road. Against a conference opponent.

Valid point. There is no reason whatsoever to fear them. HC or not. We should win this game easily.

However, its Iowa State, and when we "should" do things, we typically do the opposite. Gonna be a good day for the nut cups

Before the line came out I thought it would be +4. Saw it at +5.5 and pulled the trigger quickly. Now the more I think about it I don't feel good about our chances.

Weather is supposed to be windy and wet. Cincy is good up front. Even though there is improvement in the OL I don't think it's enough to match a good DL. Due to the wind it'll be hard to pass to soften the defense.Cincy seems to be fairly decent on the ground. This defense has shown to give up yards on the ground.

Last week we were +4 in TO. Things have a way of evening out. Good special teams last week means a gaft in special teams this week. Also with wet conditions I see a botched punt return. No fumbles yet for us, well it's a perfect time for that to happen. Their QB is prone to giving the ball away. Not this game he puts it all together and has a clean game.

I really felt good about this one after last week's performance but it's not in the cards. We lose by 6.

Who needs a weather forecast when you are pumping so much sunshine . . . .

Hyperspecificity - love it.

This is one of those games where I think we've got a solid chance to win, but I also know there are reasons why the folks in Vegas who predict outcomes for a living think we're more likely to lose.

I just tell myself that if we do end up losing, there are still other things I can still look forward to watching, such as:
  • Iowa losing at Wisconsin
  • Brock and the 49ers beating the Browns
  • TJ and company opening the season next month

I have one of those too! Good luck my friend!
I always do one outrageous parlay per week and throw $10 into it. Figure it's harmless. I got fairly close last week by going 9 for 11 against the spread. This week, I'm just picking the straight up winners instead of the spread since those are so difficult. Less of a payout, but hopefully a bit easier.
