Iowa takes an early lead (like they normally do), ISU settles for field goals and is behind 14 - 6 at half time. Iowa makes a field goal and Purdy runs in for a touchdown in the early fourth quarter. ISU late turnover as they are heading to the endzone. Iowa 17 - ISU - 13.
I just threw up in my mouth as this seems so like what I feel like will happen, too....the thing with our team being able to play/beat about any team now a days, the losses usually have one or two things that clearly were the turn.
I think we as fans are used to our team being down and coming back....and the defense locking in post-halftime.
My prediction: We have ball first.....a couple decent plays and a first down or two....then punt away (or promise of a score, penalty, then settle for a field goal). Potential of trying a "looser" play book play that doesnt go as planned and we tighten up.
Iowa gets a score in the second quarter of a slow drive with then a broken play to score. Before the half we have a promising drive, but miss a field goal....7-3 iowa at half.....me telling anyone that listens that easy filed goal will haunt us, lol.
3rd quarter slow start/trickle in from halftime drinking...iowa goes ahead 14-3.
Mid-third quarter we get a burst of energy off an Iowa turnover and we score....we are in it, 14-10......defense steps up again as we are starting the fourth and we have a promising drive, but again have to settle for a field goal after a missed PI call in the endzone....14-13 Iowa with 4 mins left......Iowa burns about two mins off clock and defense gets a good stop.....it's Purdy time.....2 mins....we are driving.....
1. Ideal: drive down, using timeouts effectivity and it feels like we are in the perfect set up for a short field goal, but Breece squeaks free and gets the td with 12 seconds left.
2. Less than ideal: Line up for a game winning field goal
3. Worst: showing signs of a drive for a winning score....dumb turn over.
