We run the kickoff for 90 yards. We are on their 10. Now for the epicness of the bubble screen...... we go -92 yards annnnnnd SAFETY!!!!

Tulsa up by 2 to start the game.

He could call a statue of liberty for a 75 yard touchdown, and people would still be whining.

I know this was discussed on another thread, but I don't think most of what we saw in the Iowa game were actual "bubble screens" -- I think most of what we saw were WR screens, where one WR blocks for another. The problem is they were poorly executed (thrown 4 feet above the WR) and/or called at the wrong time.

So, I don't think CPR saying he wants more "Bubble Screens" is as bad as it may have initially seemed. It should look like this: A wide out or slot guy (Wimberly comes to mind) comes back toward the QB at the snap at catches it while running then cuts up field in kind of a slanty way. Getting the ball into the hands of your playmaker in stride. It would work well if the corners/safteys are playing pretty loose.

That's my best guess at least.

You are correct in your differentiation between a WR screen and a "bubble screen". Two completely different animals.

BUT... whatever play is called... i wanna see a dude cut it up field in a slanty way. That would be awesome

Start the game with option-esque rollout to the right by Richardson and White.....then a pitchout into a reverse that tears around the left end and rockets downfield for a touchdown.

...then, when the player walks over to the ISU sideline, he will tear off his helmet to reveal.......that he's JJ Moses.

Hey, it worked great against Iowa in 1998.

Sam drops back to pass.. Scrambles for 2 yards

OR

Bubble screen that is thrown 3 yards behind the WR causing him to turn around catch it losing 2 yards.

We seem to be REALLY good at these plays.

Maybe it could be a lateral and the blocker (who doesn't slow down the defender anyway) could just catch a lob pass over the defender's head and bolt for the end zone.

Confusion, time out, then bubble screen.
Receiver fails to move in a slanty way and we only net 3.
Back to up-the-middle runs.

SJ up the middle. When it doesn't work......fool them on 2nd down with SJ up the middle. Then on 3rd down......really cross them up with White up the middle. Then punt.

Ooh...can I change mine?

Fake the reverse and option with our hobbled quarterback and Woody.

That was actually 1999, 98 was the blocked punt, followed by d. Davis run to start the isu offense. Wemberly needs to be in the slot like jj.
