Playstation Vue

I didn't know Vue was available on Fire TV. Any idea if it's coming to Roku?

I used Sling TV for the past football/basketball season and just recently cancelled. When September rolls around is when I'll re-subscribe to something. Sling was fine but I am open to a change.

I looked into getting this, but I only have 2 internet options that I'm aware of. I currently have mediacon, and they have a data cap, and I'm certain I'd exceed it with this. The other is century link, but the only speed available in my area according to their website is 5 mbps, which probably isn't fast enough.

I started vue last week and had the cable officially shut off today. I bought a fire tv to view it. For the test week I was on mediacon 15 Mbps Internet and we had buffering issues but I was also using wifi.

I upgraded to the 100Mbps plan bc it has a 990GB data limit and wired up the fire tv and it's been working great.

Earlier the was a question about dvr that I don't think was answered yet. You can have only 1 ps3 and 1 ps4 and a total of 5 devices connected on your network. The dvr isnt really your recording, it's just flagged on theit server as "my show" and you can view it for up to 28 days. The problem I see so far is I can't tell when one of "my shows" has a new episode and I can't tell what I've already watched.

No locals sucks, but would've changed already if they had them. But will probably add Hulu +. We never watch live sitcoms

I'd rather not pay an extra $10/mo to get the free OTA channels. Abc, NBC, and Fox are all available on demand with vue. The only missing one is cbs. I already have a chromecast so I use the cbs app on my phone and cast it for CBS shows.

I'm not smart, I didn't notice the nbc abc etc are on there. Well worth it. What's the best way to view? I have a ps4 and a PS3, I know they don't work on Roku but do on a fire stick.

What I've read online is the ps3 and fire stick experience lag issues. The ps4 is supposed to be fast and it streams at 60 fps. The fire tv I have doesn't lag but both the fire tv and stick stream at 30 fps. The fire tv apparently is capable of 60 fps however Sony has both amazon devices set to 30 bc I think that is the max for the stick. Hopefully they can fix it for the Fire tv.

Thanks. I could buy 3-4 ps4sv a year from ditching Directv vs Vue. That's sad.

I know you're joking but you can only run 1 PS3 and 1 PS4. It looks like you could run up to 5 fire sticks but it's limited on playstations. I switched today thanks to this thread. Went from $245 with DirecTV to $35 with PS Vue. Thanks guys!

$245? Did you have every porn channel available? Not condoning, just asking.

Haha no porn. We did have every movie channel, the premier package and Baseball pack just kicked in too. On 4 receivers, plus I was 3.5 years in, so no rebates.

God damn! I though I was getting ****ed at 135 a month.

Anyone get a bill yet? What are taxes and fees? Like cable /satellite will quote a price but much higher wo fees.

Here's my other question, according to the FCC website, I'm 68 miles from the towers for OTA channels, which rates the signal as "weak". Will I be able to get the channels if that's the case? I see I can get a 70 mile antenna on Amazon, so I'd be cutting it close.

If you are talking about the D.M. stations I would think you'd be ok, sometimes in really heavy rain or snow you'll lose your OTA reception for a little bit. I've never lost them all at once but sometimes I'll lose the channel I'm watching.

Yeah I get CSN and CSN+ which is awesome. Been using Vue for around a month now and for the 35 I pay per month, I'm happy enough. Had some issues getting the right zip set up initially (had me in Pennsylvania for some reason) but got it taken care of reasonably quick. I have some buffering and picture quality issues at times but our internet is to blame for that. I'd definitely recommend it. Even if you have some issues which some people definitely have, you can't beat that price!

How did you get the zip fixed? I tried the trial and it had me in southern Missouri (live in Des Moines). At that rate I wasn't able to get the regional sports channels I wanted. I called PS Vue and they told me to call my provider. Called Mediacom and they said they only give dynamic IP addresses to commercial accounts. So basically vue told me I was SOL.

Support chat on playstation network website. Guy canceled my subscription, refunded my money, and had me sign up online instead of on my ps3. Unfortunately a lot of others have run into the same problems as you and get the run around. Try the chat and if you don't get the answer you're looking for, close it and start a new one. Eventually you'll get somebody who knows what they're doing.

I had the same problem with the Zip code when I signed up for the trial, I signed up on my computer and it had my zip code wrong. The lady on the support line fixed it by changing my home zip code, only took about 5 minutes on the phone.

Ok. Finally trying the 7 day trial. Then cAncelling directv. Anyone with any regrets or suggestions for better VUEing???

You can use ur psvue login for watchespn app which i feel has better streaming quality vs vue ... not a huge deal to most but something to consider or worth mentioning ...
