I went X.

His hands are just unbelievable. Different athletically than Butler just like Lazard is different athletically from the two of them.

I have to go with Butler but likely just because of the 'what did ISU need?' recency bias.

Not listed...he battled injuries but Dylan Soehner was a favorite to watch when he was healthy. Was a bad man if he got some time and space to get downfield after the catch.

Butler's peak was higher than Lazard's IMO, and I think those two are separated from the rest as far as guys I feel I know enough about to really judge.

I went Hakeem, he was on another level at his peak. Lazard is tough to go against though. Give X another year and I think he'll be a legit contender, he's already climbing the ISU receiving record lists. If you're talking all around, every down, he's tough to argue against.

You'll have to wait for the QB thread.
Someone else can start that one. That will undoubtedly turn into the “how good actually was Brock Purdy” debate for the 150th time. It’s why I didn’t do QBs.

I wanted to go with Hakeem, he was electric for a play, just too many dropped passes. Lazard over Blythe but only because Lazard was a beast of a blocker.

Lazard was most definitely better than Blythe and I’m not even sure Todd wouldn’t tell you the exact same thing.

If we are talking tight ends, whar Keith Krepfle?
I’ll do a TE one in the coming days. Considering how damn many passes he caught, Charlie seemed like he earned the right to be an option on this kind of a list.

It was really tough picking between Butler and Lazard. Hakeem deserved more of an NFL look than he got

How so?

I wish he would have stuck too but he had plenty of chances with the generally best coaching available and ine team even moved him to TE at one point iirc.

Route running (feet) and inconsistent hands were issues going in and it didn't improve enough.
