Something to kill some time. The PG thread was the inspiration from this. I'm just doing players from 2000-present, so that is why there are is no Hoiberg, Cato, Grayer, ect.

Pick 1 team that you think would be the best. For the sake of this argument, each player is as good as their best year at Iowa State. That means for Haliburton its Iowa State Haliburton and not present day top 10 player in the world. Also not doing any current players on the roster.

Team A:
Jamaal Tinsley
Matt Thomas
Will Clyburn
Abdel Nader
Jameel McKay

Bench: Tyrus McGee, Chris Babb, Jiri Hubalek

Team B:
Monte Morris
Curtis Stinson
Marial Shayok
Georges Niang
Jared Homan

Bench: Lindell Wigginton, Nick Babb, Dustin Hogue

Team C:
Tyrese Haliburton
Deandre Kane
Deonte Burton
Marcus Fizer
Jackson Vroman

Bench: Jake Sullivan, Will Blalock, Paul Shirley

Team D:
Diante Garret
Izaiah Brockington
Melvin Ejim
Royce White
Craig Brackins

Bench: Naz Long, Kantrail Horton, Michael Jacobson

My initial thought is Jamaal Tinsley surrounded by all that shooting and scoring plus McKay around the rim would be damn near unstoppable so I think A would be my choice. B and C have arguments in my mind. D has talent but not sure it fits together very well not much for spacing

Team C would crush! Fizer was the most consistently dominant player and Burton could just be a huge matchup nightmare. Kane had one of the best single seasons of any Clone and Hali was a stud the minute he walked on campus (assists record in one of his first games as a cyclone (17))

Replace Homan with Cato

Team C hands down. That bench is loaded too. Fizer is the most dominant player to ever wear a Cyclone jersey and that roster is just loaded with a bunch of weapons that collectively is better than than what he had with the elite 8 team. No offense to Stevie Johnson Shirley and Rancik but Vroman is an upgrade and that benchbof Sullivan Blalock and Shirley is the best of the options too

Gotta go with A, Tinsley on that team would be unstopable. Ya a little small lineup per say but all of them were dogs.
**** team C might be up their as well.
Damn you for a great question.

Team A would be able to shoot everybody out of the gym. Especially with Tinsley driving and kicking. The fast breaks would be insane as well. I voted C though. Fizer, Kane and Burton would be intimidating as hell. LOL...

Some individual match ups I'd like to see. Fizer vs White would be fun to watch. I kinda like B. Homan and Niang would be a tough frontcourt combo with Monte distributing. Now try to put together the best team out of that bunch would be tough to do. ISU has had some talent. Bryce Jones should be in there somewhere.
