Phrases that Annoy You

Atop my list:

--"Whether or not...". Just "whether" will suffice.

--"...may or may not be...". As if there's some 3rd option?

--"I could care less". There's a funny diagram on this:

When people use "Up, down or over" referring to making a trip somewhere and don't use up as North or Down as South. Really bugs me when someone says they are going up to Des Moines from Ames or down to Minnesota.

Worst sports reference: "At the end of the day". I hear it way too much and it is completely overused.

Worst saying that is botched: "It's a mute point." It's flipping MOOT son!

I'm out.

Generally any phrase that uses the word process or protocol. The environmental regulators on my project use them over and over so they don't have to actually describe the stupid stuff they make us go through in order to build something.

Whenever someone says something needs to be "fleshed out" it makes me cringe. Like "We need to sit down and flesh this out." Ugh.

I love this one. You can say whatever what you want as long as you say "with all due respect" and people can get mad at you, right?
I never get tired of this clip:

"Warsh"

Who the **** added an "r"?

Anything said with a southern accent annoys me -- unless it's spoken by a cute girl. "It is what it is" used to annoy me, but now I've come to accept it as the best way to say "we're ****** for reasons beyond our control, but we still need to do our best".

"Looks like you got your ears lowered!" - when someone gets their hair cut.

"Working hard or hardly working?" - mostly just idiots say this.

What are yours?

I know a ton of people who say this, none of who I would consider to be idiots. I'm sure you feel better about yourself calling them idiots.
