Phenylephrine decongestant does not work

Love that. Side note, last winter I was waiting in line for the good stuff and was up an aisle slightly. Same aisle as the Trojans, lube, etc in their plastic cases so they don’t get lifted. Anyway, I’m standing there on my phone not paying any attention (probably on this site) and a middle aged guy probably 10 yrs older than me says “excuse me there sir” as he looking at the sex items. I move out of the way and he grabs a $37 cockring thing with a vibrator in it. He saw the just plain astounded look on my face and I just said “didn’t know they had those here (cvs)”. He winked at me and said “now you do bud”.

I still don’t know how I feel about that 10 seconds of my life.
That was you? Huh, small world isn't it?

Do people even make meth like they used to back in the Iowa clandestine lab hey-days?
The old ditch labs, no, in part due to the controls on the primary ingredients. There still is some locally produced by the shake and bake method when the makers don't blow themselves up, but by far the vast majority is trafficked.

It's very definitely a huge problem in rural Iowa, as it is everywhere.

Exactly. I feel like I am presumed a meth maker every time I need allergy medicine. I feel like I need to have my nose running, have a squeezing fit and my eyes watering so they don't suspect anything.
This is why I sit in my car for 10 minutes and think of things that make me cry before walking up to the counter.

Me: Soo, what is the maximum amount I can buy so I don't show up on some kind of DEA registry.

First, the Cyclones get beat by the Hawkeyes in the CyHawk game. And now you are telling me that phenylephrine decongestants do not work. What's the world coming to???

All cold medicines that are effective seem to do similar things to me. I can't take NyQuil either. Last time I did I was up all night.

Yup - anytime I take medicines which are designed to put you to sleep… well, I might actually be asleep but I’m completely aware of my surroundings and my mind races. I’d rather not deal with that.

I generally don’t even bother with cold medicines as long as I can get my sinus pain under control with Excedrin or unless I’m running a fever or have an outright flu… because I’ve always felt like I was throwing my money away - and apparently I was.

I typically take Nyquil to get a good night's sleep just for the 'rest' part of helping get rid of a cold but after about two nights it's not that effective.

Otherwise it's lots of water, Afrin for a day or so (for nasal) and wait it out.

If it's severe I go to the counter for the good stuff.

I for one am completely shocked that an industry that knowingly piles up dead bodies to cash huge checks in exchange for occasionally writing much smaller checks would market ineffective drugs.
