'13 MI CG Austin Price Says #Iowa Cancels Official This Wknd Because #Hawkeyes Expect Verbal from Someone else. Said it's Not EC Matthews

WDM Valley Coach Jeff Horner confirms via txt that his '13 wing Peter Jok ( @Mzungu_24) officially visiting #Iowa this wknd.

Sounds like Jok may be Iowa's lone scholarship player for the 2013 class. Not sure how I feel about this one. The potential is most certainly there. I'm not sure there is a great risk involved in this one, though. A one-man class isn't going to break you, but it sure as heck can make you.

they are claiming that just recently he has really started to regain some of his pre injury form

maybe mccaffrey is taking him on before even seeing the guy play his senior season out of fear that if he is indeed back some bigger programs may come back again looking at him

who knows its interesting to say the least

I would rather have Jok than Billy Reader. Atleast Jok still has some potential. Reader doesn't sound like a guy with much potential. I get that we need bigs but you'd think we could do better.

Jok could be a steal if he can get healthy.

We had not offered him, correct?

High risk high reward for sure

I don't believe he has any offers besides Iowa right now. I know his major-level interest has picked up the last month or two, but not to the extent of schools offering at this point.

I saw Jok play about 3 weeks ago. He was moving just fine. Looked pretty amazing to me. He was doing all sorts of running and cutting drills too.

So take it Jeff H. at Valley means any great player in that program will get steered to Iowa.

From what I know we haven't offered reader and we didn't offer jock so I'm not sure what all the fretting about. We are visiting/watching Chris McCullough, that would be my first choice.

Meh. A verbal commitment now doesn't mean all that much anyway. If he's all the way back from his knee injury then the more prestigious schools will keep sniffing around.

Boom or bust. Could be a great pickup for them or injuries could turn him into just an average player.
Get him in the weight room and Chris Doyle his ***. i'm sure all will turn out dandy for Peter

It would be interesting to see a basketball player taken in the first few rounds of the NFL draft. That'd show him.

Isn't there a signing day in November? Not a lot of basketball played between now and then.

I saw him one time...the kid can shoot the ball, very fluid and effortless looking shooting style. He is probably all of 6'6". If he can stay healthy he could be a big time player.
