Are those shoes Jordan brand? Noticed the “Air” on the sole.
So take it to AdidasI feel like the trice stipe is a bit too close to the Adidas logo for Nike to green light this.

It is a thing, though it's a bad thing in most cases. Need a very specific look for the sneaker to go with a suit, and most people miss badly. Easier to just wear dress shoes. Guys also wear suit jackets with jeans. A jacket with jeans is fine if the jacket matches the casual vibe of the jeans. But a suit jacket doesn't do that.Is the suit - gym shoe combo a real thing? ESPN dudes all seem to be matching casual shoes with a suit.
I have to give a presentation next month. Wonder if I could pull it off
I guess it depends on how formal it is. Personally, I just can't stand dress shoes much (never did really). My go to 'dress' shoe now is a classy looking (I think) black leather walking/casual/basketball-type shoe (not sure how to describe it). I make sure it's clean, shine it up a bit. It passes the test for me. Maybe the key is that it is a no-frills 'black' shoe, made by Nike. [Edit: It kind of looks like the shoes in the first post of this thread, only the swoosh is much smaller and gray, all the rest is black, including the sole.] But there is very little that I dress up for by choice, anymore. Is the suit - gym shoe combo a real thing?
