Percy Harvin now a Seahawk

The last two receivers who went from Minnesota to Seattle didn't work out too well for the Seahawks. Fool me thrice, I guess.

If Minnesota ends up with an additional first round pick, and nabs another WR (Wallace/Jennings) in free agency, then I'm more than fine with this.
I think the Vikes end up with Wallace or Jennings.

The Seahawks will now have Wilson, Lynch, and Harvin on field often. It will be interesting what other teams do defensively to contains those guys.

Neither is Harvin. They need more than one guy and these Swiss Army receivers are nice to have.

Slot receivers are a dime a dozen. Harvin was not. Harvin was the silver dollar of slot receivers. He is a complete stud and worth 2x any other slot. The slot is a luxury, a #1 is basically a necessity.

Glazer just said the Vikings got a 1st, 7th this year and a mid round pick next year.

Gives the Vikings 11 picks this year.

First- 2
Second-1
Third- 1
Fourth- 1 + 8th pick in round
Fifth- 1
Sixth- 1 +5th pick in round
Seventh- 1 +25th pick in round

John Clayton just confirmed at least a 1st rounder is involved. #25. Vikings would have #23 and #25.

Kudos to the Vikes front office guys. Even if there weren't other picks/compensation beyond the first rounder (and it sounds like there might be), that's great value when you consider what a pain in the *** the guy had become.

What's their salary cap situation? With their big stars aging, I wonder if they'll go fo a win now mentality in the free agent market or try to build through the draft.

With Harvin gone, I want to say they're about $14-$18 million under the salary cap. That's should be enough to re-sign Loadholt and Felton, and then possibly nab a free agent WR.

Trading Harvin clears about another $2.8 million under cap for#Vikings. Offset by another player to Top 51, they're about $17 million under

...... and draft another Troy Williamson......sigh. I hope you are correct and I am not.

Not too shabby. I'd feel better about their overall standing if I was sold on Ponder as the long term answer at QB. It doesn't matter what they do elsewhere if he doesn't develop into a legit starter.

Overpay and cripple your team in other areas for the length of the contract? I've watched Al Davis do that too many times. Speaking as a Raider fan, I don't think you want to do this.
Speaking of Al Davis- if he was still alive, this could've been a Herschel Walker trade FOR the Vikes.

Easiest way to develop a QB is put weapons around him and a solid line in front of him.
