I hope they don't need a football coach for a few years.
This will not happen.
I think they get some young guy looking to skip a few rungs, or an old coach looking for his last job with no connection to Paterno.
Maybe a recently fired NFL guy.
The more I think about it, big picture, Penn State is better off suspending the football program for a year or two. With no gap the public perception will linger indefinitely.
It's not even about justice, I think ten years from now, PSU will be better off if they imposed their own 2 year suspension than if they don't miss a game. It's in their own self interest.
The next 5 years aren't going to be pretty no matter what, better for them to spend two years not having a program, then 3-6 years rebuilding with a clean conscience.
Why no one brought this one up yet ?

I agree. I think PSU is going to be humbled by this whole series of events and will have a lot more patience with the new coach than they would have otherwise had with Paterno's successor. You clean house, bring in a completely new staff and you'll be shocked at how fast this will blow over. This is going to kill their recruiting for this year and probably next year, but Penn St is a top ten job in the coach. Even if no big name coach wants it now, there will be lots of coaches who do. These types of jobs don't come open very often, regardless of the circumstances. Some coach is going to see this as his chance to get an elite job, if he can survive the next two years, Penn St can be back to normal by year three.
