If I was him would want to look at film of all the penalties they had too. We had our fair share of penalties as well. I thought Gary was really gracious and classy with his post game comments after a tough loss.

What a great defensive gem of a game to watch. I have been to pretty much all the big games ISU has had at home and the TCU game may be my favorite. Like Ben Bruns said at the beginning everything felt electric that day!

I didn't expect Patterson to disparage our team. He really cannot as ISU beating TCU is not that uncommon as we beat them a couple years back in Ft Worth. Beyond that, Patterson is typically a class act, and I'm glad we've got him in the Big 12.

Holding penalties are usually questionable. They also benefited on the kick return not having one called.

Complaining about bringing back the pick 6 Kempt threw is a joke. It was a free play!

Exactly. The same guy who was off sides on that play was also off sides on an earlier play in which he sacked Kempt on 3rd down and no flag was thrown.

I think one of their holding penalties was BS, another was very marginal. We could ask them if they'd want to trade that for the multiple uncalled holds on the only score of the game. I doubt they'd trade.

Yeah, Kempt threw that ball knowing he had a free play. I was more worried about our players getting hurt chasing the guy than I was with TCU scoring, that's how positive I was the play was coming back.

Some of the calls were close, but Lima gets held almost every snap. I’m not surprised their backup center was called out. The PI on Lazard was questionable, but they also got the benefit of the doubt on a couple. Their LB/DE was consistently on the LOS. That’s the thing about having good players- the refs aren’t always going to swallow their whistles.

Honestly, TCU was sloppy. Which was needed as we didn’t execute at our best, either.

Yet another way Lima wins games for us. He's unblockable and draws several holds a game. They could have called even more of these on Schlottman. Dude was whipped.

I like Patterson and still am pissed for him that TCU got jobbed out of the playoffs three years ago. However, when he looks at this film he will see that Lima and Trent have changed the game for ISU inside and are putting pressure on everyone's interior O line.

Maybe if he was first team all-conference he wouldn't have had to hold so much.

I'm not sure he knew he had the free play, the flag and offending player was on his blind side. He pretty much zeroed in on the right side and telegraphed the pass. He was damn lucky that the flag was thrown.

They had no less than 3 holds on the KOR TD. One was an outright tackle. I don't want to hear about the bad calls they got.

I would encourage everyone to rewatch the game and focus on Lima driving the center into the backfield. It's beautiful. The best way to stop a spread offense is to collapse the pocket. It forces the qb to move and throws off the timing. The guy is a prize Bull and cannot be handled inside.

I didn't get to hear any of the post-game, but I was curious if Kempt really knew it was a free play when he threw the ball. It was obvious to me that the play was going to be an offsides call, but I just wasn't sure if our team knew it for certain.
