Palo expected back next week

As much as some of the posters on this site hate an Ames boy giving his all to be a Cyclone it makes me wonder how you aren't chasing Fred out of town. Guys like Bubu are what make Iowa State.

This, someone gets it.

Dead.

Watch the Ok St game again, best help defender on the team.

Bubu would probably be as good as Allen if he had his length.

Ahhh see this is where we are miscommunicating. Did i say "Help Defender"? No i did not. I said on ball defender. And yes, I think babb is a better on ball defender than bubu but not by much. If you dont want to believe me fine, but you should believe fred hoiberg who said Bubu was this teams best on ball defender... Need i say more?

Having Bubu back will help our depth in the backcourt. No disrespect, but he is a spot minute guy, around 10 minutes a game here or there at best.

He plays very hard and provides a nice spark, but he's just not a guy who you want playing extended minutes. He's not talented enough to play 20 minutes a game but can be very effective coming in during certain situations to hassle an opposing player on D and handle the ball on offense. I'm glad he's back.

That reply wasn't to you. Still stand by what I said.

It's good that he's back, I'm just not as high on him as most posters.

Our other players have weakness that are exploitable enough for Bubu to play 10-20 minutes a game. In many games being one of our better guys at hassling an opposing player on D and handling the ball on offense will earn him meaningful minutes, like MU and Baylor. Could have been the difference against Ok St.

Great news, seems he recovered quicker than expected. Love Bubu's hustle out on the court, plus we will have more depth at guard now again with someone that can handle the ball fairly well.

I've written this in other related threads: I see no downside to Bubu's return.

Additional depth.

Someone brought up questions about chemistry and "taking away minutes." I could see that being a concern if he was a 30-minute guy prior to the injury, or a major scoring threat, and here he comes back into the rotation, and the 6th or 7th man gets "demoted."

He's a role player with a combination of specific strengths (defense, some driving capabilities on offense, reliable FT shooter). I think his return will mesh quite nicely.

It might even create an unexpected boost — think about the strides ISU has made since his injury. He was out long enough that it's like adding another a new (yet familiar) player to your roster.

I'm sure that, between Fred's terrible coaching and the team's terrible chemistry, this will be the final nail in the coffin. I don't trust them at all to figure out the best line-ups and rotations to win games. It was a nice run while it lasted.

No downside to having extra warm bodies on the bench. Healthy and able Bubu is a good thing. Remain calm. All is well.

I was hoping you'd leave off the pirate, because I'm sure at least one person would have assumed you were serious. That would've be fun to read.

I'd be lying if I said that the thought hadn't crossed my mind.

How can people "hate" an Ames boy that is a "Clone to the bone?" Like others said, it's not like he's playing 30 minutes a game and he is a great energy guy like Mcgee when the others need a rest. As far as depth goes I'd much rather have Bubu on the floor than Railey any day. Railey is a bonehead with potential that he'll never reach. Hopefully Fred makes him (Railey) pull his head out of his rump

Thought I saw him in warmups for the Baylor game. Couldn't tell if there was a cast. Can anyone confirm?
