Out of UCONN region!

I don't know much about how much effort is put into bracketology predictions, but I'd be very surprised if they paid much attention to regional placements after assigning the #1 seeds.

And you'd really want to play Tennessee in the Knoxville Region???

The only thing to get excited about is if they bump us up to a 3 seed. Our chances of making the elite 8 are MUCH, MUCH better against any of the 2 seeds than they are against any of the 1 seeds.

My dream bracket would have us as a 3 playing #2 Xavier and #1 Nebraska in the Kansas City Regional. But, we have to win at least a couple of games before the committee decides.

actually its the Memphis Regional, but close enough. Yes, I would rather play TN than UConn. Actually, I think ISUs defenses would match up well with TN, and our offense would cause them issues. TN is big, but a little slow, and really lacking outside shooting.

I haven't seen much of Xavier, but of the other schools mentioned as 1s and 2s I like our chances against Tennessee and NU.

Our zone would really cause problems for TN's offense and they have bad help defense (because their slower), Aus would tear them up driving until they started sagging to help and then the kick out for 3 would do them in. I think that's a very good matchup for us. Granted it'd be a road game for us for all intents and purposes, but I still think that outside of NU, Tennessee is our best chance for knocking off a top seed.

The womens bracket is pretty much set if you think about it - there are only two major conference tourneys this week (PAC-10 & B12), the MWC which is almost a major conference is going on as well, although they appear to be a one league bid. They other mid-major conferences are like the MVC are only one bid leagues. I feel confident about our chance as a four seed. I don't see there being a lot of movement.

I would rather see Tennessee than kNU. I think the sisters can beat the Huskers, but familiarity hurts the sisters. Tennessee would have to face the sisters with one day's prep. ISU does so many unorthodox things such as the zone defense, outside shooting bigs and great out-of-bounds plays that are tough to prepare for. Personally, I think Bill can out in-game coach anyone including the 900 game winner.

I know I am going to take a beating for that last comment, so go ahead.

Get well soon, Aus!

Edit: Oops, 1 and 4 don't meet with 1 day's prep. Stooopid! In addition I forgot that Summitt eclipsed 1000 wins.

Hear that the Committee is setting up a different bracket this year for the Women's tourney.... they will be placing UConn in the title game and the other 63 teams will be playing to see who will be playing in the title game.

Let's just hope the UConn team thinks their championship is as much of a foregone conclusion as all of the media seems to think it is...
