I just need to get this off my chest. I really didn't know how to title this , but here we go sorry this might get long.

I usually stay off of here when we have losses for both personal thoughts and reading what all the other experts on here think ha ha. I'm just as guilty as the next person for yelling and being frustrated with the coaches and the players. But for once I took a step back and reading all the different post on here dang everyone . From one post telling your kids to love a different team to complaining about coach calling out a player in a press conference, to saying your skipping the rest of the this years games. We all are frustrated but come on everyone, we love to claim that we are one of the proudest fan bases in the nation and we stick behind our teams even if it's been a rough few years. It is not fair of us to be calling out the players and the coaches here either. I doubt any of us here could do a better job for one. And look at it through the coaches eyes they come to work everyday and work hard and get their butts kicked like we did on Saturday. Who here could go to work like that and have all of us bosses just be so awful in what we say about them and the players. And go right back out to get ready for the next day and week. Pollard knows, Paul knows that if there isn't a turn around this year some how that something is going to have to happen. Let's not be ignorant about that. But us hating on everything right not like we are just isn't right! These young men deserve better from us!!!! They made a choice to come here and play football and get a good education. They work way harder then any of us Monday morning quarterbacks do right now day in and day out. And the players and the coaches alike represent our school with pride. After all that's what most of US cyclones have in our school is pride in it, and being Loyal Son's Forever True!!!!! By the end of the football season we all know either we had a miracle run at finishing the season or we loose out and we will be looking for the next group of coaches that might get us back to being competitive. But I for one am going to get behind these young men and show them the support they deserve and any of the fans that i feel that are true fans should do the same in helping show this team that we are behind them through good and bad.

So come on Loyal Fans Forever True lets be the fans they deserve !!!!!!

Nobody is ripping on the players other than one position who happens to be a 5th year senior and should be better by now.

But all of this is on the coaches - including the above statement. I don't think you'll find anybody to support the current coaching regime after the WORST outing in ISU history (fast-forward to next Monday and you can repeat that).

now, now, it wasn't worse than this:

We are a proud fanbase, and historically a very loyal one. That comes with responsibility, though, it isn't a guarantee, not even for our fanbase.

As a fanbase, we expect our representatives of the university to perform at the highest level possible for them, and for them to provide the tools necessary to perform and improve.

It's time to revisit those tools and see what needs to change, because the status quo is clearly not working, nor is it satisfactory. Our fanbase is not hard to please. We've been unhappy for a few years now, and with the current status of the program not getting largely better over time, something needs to happen. Once that happens, I imagine the fanbase would turn from scorn and disappointment to support pretty damn fast.

Obviously not all of us are football coaches here. But, we can read W/L records and see how our teams perform. When the teams don't perform to what their perceived capacity is, it's time to bring about the change that will allow them to do so.

We are progressing through the stages of grief over seven years. The players are better this year. They have the ability to win. It is just that the coaches are simplifying things to the point that we cannot win. The coaches are putting players in schemes that will not win. The coaches need to do better. Sam has to play with an A game if we have a chance. He needs to make better decisions and execute better. The pieces are out there, but the coaches need to do more.

We have receivers who are great at catching balls, an outstanding running back, some good rush defense linemen, adequate kickers, lots of players getting playing time including some real young ones, not so many injuries, experience, fewer penalties, not too many turnovers. The pieces are there. Now the coaches need to do their job for heaven's sakes. And I am tired of hearing the coaches do not play the game, it is on the players. Well TT was on the coaches for their pedestrian schemes. Having a player rush for 250 yards and then unable to pass? Having eight players defending for a pass and then unable to catch up to them?

Well said, but don't get your hopes up to get alot of people to completely agree with you. The majority of the people who look at the big picture this way have either already decided to stop looking at the boards for now or avoided them altogether, after the loss. But nevertheless, you brought up some good points!

I'm sure we will have a few more games that we are probably going to get blown out in this year , maybe this wasn't the worse yet. But I'm not talking about people calling out players just on here. I mean in the stands or just when we are talking with others in conversations that I've had. I'm really guilty of it, and feel how wrong it is now. It's the coaches job to have the right set of players that deserve to be out on that field. Obviously if they don't do their job just like any of us in this world they won't have that job for very long. We sadly know that it probably is Rhodes last year. A guy that wants to be here , a guy that wants Iowa State to be successful. That we are not a stepping stone to him for the most part. Do we want another Chizk that once things don't go as he feels he bolts or has success and leaves us high and dry and we start all over again .........

!

Unfortunately, the jury is still out on this one.........

We gave up over 750 yards of offense to TEXAS TECH. Yes, it was worse...just not in the score dept - from an overall game? It was the worst I've seen in over 20 years.

I dunno.... In the last 20 years I've seen games where ISU gave up 63 points in the first half and another where a team ran for 624 yards. OH and last year where a team ran for 510 yards and threw for additional 200+.

Saturday seemed pretty tame in the all time sense for ISU football.

These young men deserve a leader who prepares them to show up and compete on Saturday. They don't have that right now and they haven't had it for a while.

Even the spelling police have given up.

At least Chizik's players won here. I have to wonder about a couple of things now. If we actually had a good coach after Chizik, how many more games could ISU have won 2009-2011?

Second thing, how bad did Jamie Pollard potentially screw over Iowa State by holding on to Rhoads after last season. What if we could have landed Pat Narduzzi that is now at Pitt. ISU has better fan support, facilities and more money.

!!!!!!

1. The occasions of people calling out a player are rare and are rooted in the poor development of that player by this staff.
2. These coaches are paid hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars to meet ISU fans expectations of going to a bowl and not having yardage records set against us. Some of the lowest standards in the P5...and they can't manage it. They get beaten by FCS and the MAC regularly now. That's not acceptable.
3. If I failed to meet the low benchmarks that the ISU football staff has at my job I would be fired...and presumably so would you and most posters here.
4. I have so much admiration for any young man who chooses to be a Cyclone. It's a crime the way this staff is wasting their talents. Yes, these young men deserve better. Much better. They deserve a competent coaching staff that will develop their skills and give them a chance to WIN.
