Our defense is much improved

Defense is much improved, mostly because the defensive intensity is up. Burton still looks like he's not trying sometimes on defense which can be frustrating. The two biggest things for this team going forward are effort and hustle during the games and staying healthy.

I'm not sure if I want us to go there or not? Yes, I want us to play better defensively, but I still want Hoiball on the offensive end. At least it's very entertaining to watch. I don't want to turn into a B1G team.

We only scored 62 yesterday, and it was not fun to watch.

This team just doesn't have the shooters that we've had in the past. We miss Naz a TON IMO. Right now, Thomas is the only one that can knock down a 3 for us. Morris and Niang have been struggling from beyond the arc and Nader's never been that good. Burton can hit it, but not consistently. We used to have 4 guys on the court that could drain 3's in the Hoiball era, now we have one right now, maybe two at the most.

Yeah, well, our offense is still better this year than last year so I think you might be worrying way too much. I think you're really overrating our all around shooting. Ou EFG% is 2 points better this year than last year. Our 3P% is better this year than last year as well. So, basically, your entire premise is wrong. We have also skyrocketed about 70 spots in AdjD in the last couple weeks. I'll take this team and they style they're playing right now where they have the ability to change gears. We just went 4-1 with two home wins against good teams, beaten two teams on the road and lost to a top 10 team on the road. The stats say this team is better than last years. Two game have likely disorted our perspective a little (UNI & Baylor) but most teams in the country will have a loss at home they wish they had back and some other loss they shouldn't have had. The committee will look at UNI as a fluke, Baylor as a bad loss but not nearly as bad as we thought when it happened. If we can grab one at KU or WVU, we essentially gain that one back.

I think it has more to do with him being lost sometimes rather than effort. It looks like he does an awful lot of thinking. When all hell breaks loose, he is usually there to make a play because that's what he's worried about.

Playing defense requires a lot more effort than playing offense. And the fact that the Clones only go 7 deep only exacerbates the situation. I think slowing the pace is intentional by Prohm, so his starters aren't completely gassed before the endgame.

I'm more than fine with the style they're playing right now - but these little injury woes are a concern.

I think part of the reason is we have slowed the game down and we now play more half court offense so our guys can catch their breaths. We aren't athletic enough to play up and down the court for 40 minutes which is what we were trying to do before. It also helps us get defensive rebounds when half the team isn't taking off after a missed shot. I like the change and I think it fits the team better. That style of play I think will help come tournament time.
Believe Monte looks like he is going out for a walk. Looks like we are playing slower than Murray State.
