I'm no apologist but your post is laughable. Lack of season tickets stemmed from the squaks last season. I have not met one hawk fan that has argued that they had a really tough schedule. Not saying they're a great team but your strawman is weak buddy.
I have tons of Hok fans defending the toughness of the schedule. They don't say it is great, but they defend it. None say that the schedule turned out to be easier than they thought, even though I know lots of people who say they didn't buy season tickets because there were no marque opponents at home this year. That is closely related to having a weak schedule. And Wisconsin and Nebraska turned out to be even weaker than expected.
Perhaps the Hok fans you know are more reasonable. The ones I know just can't engage in any conversation that might take anything away from how great they want to feel about themselves. Oh well, today will take care of itself.
